    Milkis

Can't stand most sodas usually (or other carbonated drinks, other than like apple cider) but Milkis is really great.

  • Probably Coke, orange soda, and Dr. Pepper, in that order.

Funnily enough, I didn't like soda as a kid and thought it was probably a good thing I didn't since they're not good for you, but I was always told it was weird and to just keep trying them until I like it. One year at an amusement park when I was probably 13 or so, I tried vanilla Coke, and it actually tasted pretty good. Have like soda ever since. Was actually about the same thing with ice cream, too.

I have yet to like soda since the carbonation (or whatever the bubbling is called) just gives me an uncomfortable bubbling that strangely feels like burning (and not a pleasant burn like with hot chocolate) instead of tasting like something. The only time I drink it generally is certain occasions when I have a stomachache since that seems to have helped a couple of times. Maybe I should try it (though sparkling drinks like Martinelli's cider give the same feeling so...) when I don't have a stomachache.

  • Yeah, the carbonation can sorta feel like it burns if you drink it too fast, but I've come to not mind it. And I've heard people say that soda helps settle the stomach, although too much soda can also cause stomach ulcers, so not really sure how that works lol. Heard that ginger beer/ale is a better alternative for stomachaches because of the added ginger, which is supposedly good for helping with digestion. But I don't know, if you don't really care for soda now, it's not a habit I'd choose to pick up looking back.

  • Lately we've been buying 3 sorts of sodas: ginger ale, Coke, and root beer. The ginger ales are pretty much for me, but I'll have a Coke or root beer on occasion. We were getting Sprites and 7Ups before that, but kinda burned out on those.

Milkis is a lot lighter than most sodas I think, which is part of why I like it.

There's also Calpico which is similar but not carbonated.
