Oceans Is This Year's Summersend Theme!
"Oceans" beat out some great nominations to become this year's theme for Summersend, Wintreath's annual culture festival that celebrates the coming end of summer. This year's festival will run from August 21-30, and should be a lot of underwater fun!

Summersend 2021 Planning Opens
Would you like put out any ideas for Summersend or would you like to run an event? If so, let us know here! We're doing activities on the forums and Discord this year, so we'd welcome ideas and volunteers to run events on either platform. Of course the Cabinet will be pitching in as well, but it's YOU that makes any event we do special so I hope that many of you will help build our festival into something great!

July Wintreath's Finest Opens
Is there a Citizen you think went above and beyond in July? Nominate them for Wintreath's Finest! All nominees are voted on, and the winner receives 1 krone (our regional currency) and their own custom role with the colour of their choice for the month.

Threads Come to Wintreath's Discord
Threads are a new feature that Discord is launching, which allows people to create temporary sub-channels that people can join. Once you join a thread, it appears under the channel it's under for as long as it's active. Once the thread is inactive for a period of time, the thread is archived and can no longer be posted in, although you can still read it. Discord has put out an article all about threads, which you can read here. Citizens are free to create threads, while all members can join in on threads that have been created.

Mage Wars: Masters of Men Design Published
Wintermoot posted his draft design for the expansion to the upcoming Mage Wars game, which goes into detail about new apprentice units and all the things they can do in the game. The game is schedued to start soon, although sign-ups will remain open until then here.

Wintermoot is looking into using a VPN and would like to know if you're using one yourself. If so, which one are you using and would you recommend it to someone else?

Open Discord Threads
These threads are open as of the date this edition was posted. To join one, go to the channel that it's under, hit the button that looks like a # with a quote box over it, and then click the thread you want to see. Once it's open, click the join button or just post a message to see the thread on your channel list and see when someone has posted in it.
