A Word from the Monarch
As
you may have read yesterday, our friend
@Michi is leaving us for a long, well-deserved vacation in Hawaii.
Anyone who has been in Wintreath in the last few years has seen Michi's contributions to our community. He introduced us to Werewolf and nurtured that scene almost entirely alone for years. He's been the creator of many other games in our community, from Clue to Choose Your Own Wintreath Adventure. He's written numerous magazines such as
The Posh Penguin and
The Lusty Jarl as well as game reviews both on our forums and for the
Orendi. He's been part of the Discord ops team for the last few years, and helped lead our response to several foreign accusations against Wintreath over the past year. His ability to ably represent Wintreath led to a stint as Jarl of Foreign Affairs, his second Jarl-level position after serving wonderfully as Jarl of Culture several years ago. Oh yes, and he provided the funds for the purchase of a new text editor and a multi-quote mod that was highly requested by our Werewolf community.
He arrived in 2014 when Wintreath was a new community feeling out where to make its mark, and helped make it the community of fun and games that we are today. But beyond that, he has been a great friend to many of us in the community, including myself. His departure, however temporary and however deserved it is, will be felt both personally and throughout our community. For those reasons, it is my hope that the new Landsraad will consider him as a candidate for Paragonhood, the greatest honour that our government can provide to those who have made a deep and long-lasting impact on our community, as I believe he has.
We can only hope that his return, whenever that is, will be as joyful as his departure is sorrowful. But in the meantime, I just want to say to Michi: thank you for your service to Wintreath, for everything you've done to help make Wintreath a better place, and for your company and friendship. I hope you have a blast on your vacation and that it's just the start of many great things for you. Just remember to
stay frosty while you're out there in Hawaii.

Laurentus Wins First Chancellor ElectionsIn a close and hotly contested election,
@Laurentus narrowly eked out a victory against
@Doc to become the first Chancellor of the Landsraad! The Chancellor is responsible for enforcing the procedural rules of the body, which is open to all Citizens of Wintreath. With the selection of a Chancellor, the Landsraad can now focus on establishing permanent procedural rules and formally establishing itself as the new legislature of Wintreath. Congrats on your election, Laurentus!
The new text editor that was adopted on the forums last month is now avaiable site-wide, including profile fields and the
notes page (did you know there was a page for private notes?).
