Speaker’s Address to the Forty-Second Underhusen
Fellow Skrifa,
Congratulations on your election to the Underhusen, and thank you for your confidence in my abilities to serve as your Speaker once again. I have been honored to preside over this house over the course of six terms - four of those as Speaker and two of those as Speaker Pro Tempore. I do not take this obligation lightly, and I pledge to you, my fellow Skrifa, and to the citizens of Wintreath, that I will discharge the duties of this office honorably and efficiently.
We, as a region, are at a crossroads. After what can only be described as an atypical year, we are about to embark on a journey to change the way our region operates. Many of us have made promises to reform the judicial system, and all of us have pledged to reform this house - in one form or another. While some of us are standing by with torches and other very flammable items, ready to burn this house down around us, others are standing by with fire extinguishers, prepared to fight the flames. All I ask of you, is that whether torch or extinguisher be your weapon, to not turn your weapons on each other.
I know that all of us are eager to get to work. With that, I will end my address by formally appointing
@Doc as the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Forty-Second Underhusen.
Regards,
Daws
