Welcome to Part 2 of the open forum hosted by the Regional Truth Commission!
This discussion is open to all citizens, past, present, and pending. We recommend reading through and participating in the
Open Forum Survey first, to help keep track of where everyone is at the start of the discussions.
The main focus of this discussion will be to take a look at community-wide expectations of each other and the positions in the region, compare them, figure out where any discrepancies are coming from, find a way to bridge any discrepancies, and hopefully draft some solutions. To this end, to get the discussion going, here are a few questions to consider:
How do your expectations compare to others'?
Were you surprised by any differences between your own expectations and others'? If so, which aspects surprised you the most?
Did you find aspects of these differences problematic? If so, how and why?
Where do you think these differences in expectations are coming from?
What do you think can be done to bridge these differences?
Answering these questions is not a requirement, and please feel free to discuss any other points that you feel are relevant.
We also ask that everyone remain civil and refrain from calling out other citizens for specific behaviors. Instead, focus on the impacts and consequences of the behaviors. Saying "I feel like positions in the region are granted through favoritism" is acceptable whereas saying "
@Wintermoot plays favorites" is not.
