Winter is here, and with it comes a new Winter Government. As you know, over the past week we've had elections which included a standing period for Underhusen, a competitive election for Delegate, and the ratification of not one but two amendments to the Fundamental Laws...and now it's finally time for the results.
Appointment of Jarl of Foreign AffairsBefore I get to those results though, I want to announce that
@Katie will be our Jarl of Foreign Affairs going forward. In her service in the ministry over the past year, she has been involved in all aspects of the ministry in one way or another, and has done most of the grunt work of growing our network of partner regions and maintaining the ambassador program, which is the lion's share of the ministry work at this point. Regardless of the circumstances that led to this, this promotion is still well deserved, and I hope you will join me in congratulating her.
The Winter CabinetBack onto the matter of Thane elections, as you know
@Imaginative Kane won his election as Thane of Gaming by default, so congratulations to him! He has contributed quite a bit to our culture, most recently by creating a new Arena forum game, and I'm sure he will do awesome stuff as Thane of Gaming!
But as I said, there was a competitive election for Delegate, where Katie was running to unseat incumbent Delegate BraveSirRobin. The results are below:
Election for Delegate@BraveSirRobin - 7@Katie - 3
Congratulations to BSR! That means the Winter Cabinet will be as follows:
Jarl of Culture: @Ruguo
Thane of Gaming: @Imaginative Kane
Thane of Roleplay: @Excalibur
Thane of Werewolf: Vacant (though I'm guessing @Laurentus will be reappointed for the duration of his game)
Jarl of Foreign Affairs: @Katie
Thane of Diplomatic Officers: Vacant (although I believe Katie intends to continue those responsibilities for now)
Thane of Foreign Releases: @taulover
Thane of Regional Outreach: @Emoticonius
Jarl of Regional Affairs: @Doc
Thane of Integration: Vacant
Thane of World Assembly Affairs (Delegate): @BraveSirRobin
The UnderhusenAs you know, everyone that stood for Underhusen won by default due to the number of people who stood matching the number of open seats. The next Underhusen will consist of
@Chanku, @ogunbiyi6322,
@Emoticonius,
@Katie, and
@Gerrick. Congratulations to them.
Ratification of the Initiatives Amendment ActWith 8 people voting Aye, 3 voting Nay, and 2 Abstentions, the Initiatives Amendment Act is hereby
ratified with 72.73% of the vote.
Ratification of the Fundamental Laws Numbering Correction ActWith 11 people voting Aye and nobody voting Nay or abstaining, the Fundamental Laws Numbering Correction Act is
ratified unanimously.
Thank you for everyone who stood for election and voted on the matters at vote. It's a great reminder that even in midst of winter, our civic and political processes continue to renew our government.
