On February 17, 2020, ShadowX4Life began a conversation in the #tavern channel of the Wintreath Discord by making a reference to hentai. When fellow Citizen Luna of Anorithia, a minor, replied with an emoji, he then appeared to invite her to watch this anime with him, framing it as a "journey into anime". When she declined, he then invited several adults to do so as well. When confronted about appearing to invite Luna, Shadow claimed that the whole thing was a joke based off a video he had watched on Youtube about a particular anime  and that he had mentioned it as a joke around how bad anime had become rather than a serious invitation.

Further complicating the matter is that over the past month, Shadow has also demonstrated an inordinate amount of attention and affection towards Luna, as well as a certain amount of possessiveness in referring to her as "my Luna". Shadow claimed that this is because she reminds him of his cousin, who he thinks of as a little sister. However, when considered in addition to the hentai incident, it was pointed out that it could be a sign of grooming, an extremely serious charge.

Taken together, especially given the hentai incident, the Discord ops team finds that Shadow's actions were deeply inappropriate and that he should have known better. A further investigation of the anime series he mentioned found that this series has been removed from a number of services and networks for excessive sexual content, which should have made it even more obvious that this is not something that should have been associated with a minor in any way, even as part of a joke. Because of this, Shadow was permanently banned from all Wintreath platforms yesterday.
