1) Why are you running for this position?I've been Dispatches/Foreign Releases Thane for a year now. I've revitalized the Orendi, and as I've said in past campaign threads, I want to continue working on it and other publications.
2) What do you aim to accomplish as thane? As part of this, you must include at least one thing that you promise to do beyond the minimum listed duties of the position during your term. It should be measurable, so that it's black and white whether you fulfilled this mandate at the end of the term if you are elected.Here is the usual optimistic release schedule:
Orendi XX: early June
Orendi XXI: mid-July
Orendi XXII: late August
Orendi XX is coming along, albeit more slowly than is ideal.
2a) If you are an incumbent running for re-election, did you fulfill your mandate from the September March election? If not, why didn't you?Yes, I largely made (adapting off Hydra's past designs) Orendi XX's design in InDesign and Photoshop, and am rather satisfied with the result.
My mandate this term will be to improve my InDesign and Photoshop skills (as well as my design sense) such that I can put together the Orendi on my own if needs be.
3) What qualifications or experience do you have in the area that you are running in?Blatantly copied from my last campaign post:
Earlier experience:
- Wrote a few articles for Aura Hyperia and Wintreath in 2014/2015
- Put together New Hyperion Update #1 as Lord of Propaganda
Accomplishments as Dispatches Thane over past three terms:
- Put together 6 Orendis, currently putting together 7th
- Working closely with Hydra on redesigning and formatting 5 Orendis in newspaper/magazine PDF format, including formatting one mostly myself with Hydra's help
- Wrote ~14 articles for said 7 Orendis
- Created 2 puzzles
- Successfully bugged ambassadors to post dispatches
I also got an engineering position at my local student-run newspaper this spring. The tech division is quite large, so what I'm doing is pure web development, and here in the Orendi we're doing PDFs, so there isn't much of an overlap here, at least in our current design.
4) How do you plan to have the time to fulfill the duties of the position until the next election in September? How will you commit specific time to the position?I am on summer break until around the next election, and though I do have some work to do during this time, I think I will have time to work on the Orendi.
Though college and other RL commitments have made me busier, I still am consistently active, and in fact still
most active after Wintermoot by post count; I think I can continue managing my commitments here in Wintreath.
5) The Summer Cabinet is the Cabinet that plans our annual Summersend Festival, which takes place in late August. What will you bring to the table in our planning for the next festival?In my capacity as Foreign Releases Thane, I can help in promoting Summersend across NS, perhaps working with our Regional Outreach Thane to accomplish this goal.
As for myself, I may host some forum games such as Arena or similar, depending on how much time I have once the actual Festival rolls around.
6) Are you currently a part of any other NationStates regional or organizational government? If so, please include those regions and positions.I am co-founder, Lord of Propaganda, and WACom Delegate of New Hyperion, the Wintreath vassal region.
