  • I wanted to ask everyone's opinions on the recent passing of Article 13, are you for it? Against it? How does everyone think that it'll affect us here on Wintreath or for those of us that maintain a NationStates account?

I'd also like to specifically ask the opinion of @Wintermoot, as the owner of our lovely website, how do you feel about Article 13 and do you see any possible ramifications for us from this?

  • I think the EU has made their decision, now let's see them try to enforce it. As an American owner who uses an American host which runs American servers, I don't expect the EU's decision will any impact on us at all. I feel sorry for anyone in Europe that actually is under EU jurisdiction and is trying to build a community though...the idea that websites on their own should monitor the content of their users for copyrighted material is extremely burdensome and just not well-thought out.

  • Article 13 is a vain attempt to try and control something they can’t hope to stop. The EU is afraid to lose its power, as any government. And they see this as a means to control the uncontrollable.
