  • So, Cyberpunk 2077 is first person. Thoughts, @Seroim?

If anything that makes me more excited. It'll make it feel like Deus Ex and I have confidence in the CD Projekt guys to create a world of grey with multiple paths out of every situation.

I never much liked 3rd person shooters.

  • I always like the ones that let you choose between 1st or 3rd person.  Mainly because I like switching between the two and getting different perspectives.

  • Yeah, I've always found 1st person to be much more immersive, and the comparisons with Deus Ex certainly have me excited. I did like travelling in 3rd person in Skyrim, occasionally, but I can live without it.

I'm also quite excited about the combat, as it is reportedly as fast as an id shooter. Considering that the 2016 Doom is one of my favourite games ever, they'll get no complaints from me. It also has a free-running mechanic similar to Titanfall, which again, has me super excited.

This backlash they received over the 1st person view was very annoying.

  • The conversation has drifted to a different topic, so I split it into a new one.

I don't know anything about the Cyberpunk series, but I think a lot of people just make a lifestyle of being upset and offended over things nowadays. I don't like the direction Fallout went in after Bethesda purchased it, including the fact that it became first-person, but I just explain why when it comes up and go on with life. And in fairness, I at least gave Fallout 3 a try before concluding that I wasn't into it...in the end, game developers aren't obligated to make the game that any individual expects them to, and I assume at some point most of them will realize it and go on with life themselves.

  • Exactly, we each have different tastes, and that's fine. People acting like they have any right to boycott a product for silly reasons like this is what leads to stagnation in the industry.

  • We are talking these are the same people that would have boycotted Avengers Infinity War if they didn't like the actor that played Thanos.

Worse, these are the same people that would have started a petition for Hollywood to re-do the entire movie for that reason.
