  • I was worried I'd lost my touch for awhile, there. It's been forever since anyone has trusted me enough to keep me around for the entire game. I was even worried people would start to think I'm a wolf by virtue of simply surviving for this long.

So, how about a run-down of why all the power roles did what they did? For instance, @Gerrick, why did you scan me?

I scanned you first in both games. :P You always drive the discussions, so I gotta know what you are right off the bat.

Or if you're the good guy but there are wolf seers. Crushita scanned you in XIV.1 and as a result joined in with the lynch vote against you, for instance.

Which was of course all part of our devious plan.

After reading, while still skeptical, I decided to protect you for the first night that I was around. When only one person was killed that night, I protected you again for the next one. Looks like it paid off! :D

    >:( Yeah, I hate you for doing that. :P And I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for that pesky Laurentus!

I assumed I'd only ever get one chance to off someone, so I for once didn't randomly roll. My thought process was:
    - Sapphiron's death looked like a randomly rolled one to me because:
       - Charles's analysis of "Who Killed Sapph" made it in general seem a bad idea
       - And Laurentus's instant come back of "arch-nemesis" and subsequent arguments seemed convincing
    - Furthermore, PowerPAOK had used a number generator to select a vote back in the first game
Because of that, PowerPAOK looked the most likely Other. That, or the Other would kill them too and I wouldn't end up hurting the brother's chances too badly. ... (And I really didn't want to kill off Doc or Laurentus. You seemed better at all of this than I).

So... @Doc, since you were there, why did the Other kill Sapphiron?

Because I was pretty sure we could easily parley it into a 'Charles was the killer' (which worked reasonably easily), then 'Laurentus was mindgaming us', which was derailed by you killing PP, because I didn't have a 'good reason' to suspect anyone in the first 5 anymore without casting suspicion on myself.

That's actually a really good strategy, I myself was convinced that Laurentus was my killer.

  • Always being scanned first definitely has its perks, then. If Gerrick had decided to pile on me, I would have had serious problems.

Doc, I was very surprised that you told everyone you would have had no choice but to off me if PP had lived.

  • I was trying to spin it off as a 'I'm going to side with PP because I feel guilty about dragging him off to the Wall at random', which seemed reasonably effective. Moreover, if it had worked, we'd have killed 5 people by the start of day 4 (assuming night killings went off without a hitch, which they didn't, but that's another story), which would be ~half, and when one of us was inevitably lynched by someone else, the survivor could logically say 'oh, whew, thank god we got that Other' and deflect attention off themselves towards one of the newer people.
Frankly, the thing only fell apart because RNGesus once again picked me in a draw (which is the third time now, gdi rngesus, you asshole), because had I lived my targets were Hydra and you, and hitting Hydra would have let the next night's attempt to kill you actually work (and subsequently parley that into 'oh North is to blame, Laurentus said it himself'), while Elb might have accidentally killed someone else in the night as Ranger, pushing us closer to victory.
Tbh I was really hoping RM wouldn't vote at all on the penultimate day and get himself inactivity lynched, because with the role being redistributed that would have pretty much guaranteed the Others the win, since you'd have no viable evidence for who the actual Other was, and with two killings a night it would be pretty much in the bag.

At that point, I probably would not have reassigned the role, for precisely the reason that you said. Roles are generally only reassigned early in the game.
