So remember how I suggested there should be a spectator betting pool?  That was only half-joking.

I imagine the difficulty comes when considering how winners could be rewarded. Perhaps something like an extra life in a future Werewolf game, whenever they choose to cash it in?

I'm actually in favor of this.  I think it could be pretty neat having a betting pool for the games, and I'd totally support this..though I can really only support it in the typical fashion of rewarding currency.

I'd hesitate to bestow game-altering/breaking rewards that could really potentially affect the game negatively.  It might not sit well with players who play the game effectively and legitimately when they're competing with someone who's cashing in rewards for extra benefit...sort of like when you're playing an MMO and working hard to reach a certain level, and then the player next to you pays money for a pack that takes them to that same level in seconds.

While it's apples to oranges in that comparison, the end result for both is that it's something that would cheapen the experience and could negatively affect the other players as well as the overall morale of the game.

So perhaps currency, perhaps things like Moot has done in the past such as a grab bag for games for people that win the bet, something along those lines.

There isn't always something like that, though. I think it was Werewolf 3 where the winning team could grab steam keys?

Close enough, it was Werewolf II: Wintreath's Got talent.  With games it's a little more difficult for that reason: You'd be giving away key-codes for games that you've bought and have on your backlog.  It was nice that it was a one-shot thing for game-winners, though for bet winners it'd be more plausible since, unless you have a lot of people betting on a single person/team, there'd be less prizes to give out each time.

Great idea, but what should the policy be for participants of the games who get voted out or killed/apprehended? I think that they shouldn't be allowed to place bets on the game(s) they were participating in.

So yeah. Shall we have a betting pool for spectators of the current game? If they guess correctly, they get Krone, and a shiny new badge.

(Also, attraction possibly forthcoming to make Krone a thing).

EDIT: Regarding ex-participants, it could be the host's discretion who they allow to participate. If it was a seer who scanned a lot of people, then absolutely not, but I don't see a reason not to allow, say, a defender to participate and guess at the role of one of the wolves, if he's never been in contact with a seer.

Of course, you could have two separate pools for ex-participants and normal spectators.

To launch this, we could even invite some people in the NS region to come and watch (if they don't want to play) and reward them with a steam key if they guess correctly. It would further integration too.
