Greetings Hyperians, Wintreans, friends, and guests:

Today, I am happy to have the honour of commencing an event unprecedented in the history of our communities: a ceremony not just to formalize a new relationship between a suzerain and a vassal, but to celebrate our common desire to become one in spirit and to recognize the unique bonds between us, built over many years, that have culminated in this moment. I know that this arrangement was not taken lightly by either community. It only became possible through years of getting to know each other; coming together the common causes of friendship, fun, and merriment; and understanding that although some aspects of our communities are disparate, others make us terrific friends and now family.

And that's what it really comes to. In the same way that we welcome new Citizens to the Wintreath family, we are now welcoming an entire community composed of many people who have already joined and have become pillars of our family, opening the way for others to better do so if they wish.

So as we come closer together in this ceremony, let us not just celebrate our commonalities and the past that has brought us to this point. Let us also dedicate ourselves to building a better common future with the unique tools, values, and perspectives of our communities...a future that looks back on this moment as only the first of many triumphs of our combined passion, dedication, principle, character, and honour. Let us show ourselves and the world how we are better together than we ever would be apart. Let us begin here and now, and proceed forevermore.

Note: The next several posts will be dedicated to the act of homage and oath of fealty. It would be appreciated if those not involved in the ceremony remained silent until it has been completed, after which the event will become open to all.

Friends, both old and new:

Today marks the formalisation of Hyperion vassalage under Wintreath, a decision which did not come lightly but made sense. Before establishing embassies with one another a few Hyperion citizens also held citizenship here in Wintreath, people who I understand have made great contributions to this region.

Before this relationship began the Hyperion identity took a number of months to figure out, an identity which was re-imagined and forged after the destruction of our original home which has since been returned.

In recent times New Hyperion, while maintaining a population many regions would envy, stagnated and failed to continue to grow off-site, gaining the odd new face from time to time. This had be going on for close to a year. With this realisation it was decided that a solution was needed which would allow the current Hyperion identity to continue to live while being part of a large and active community. The solution, Wintreath. With many Hyperions also being citizens of Wintreath the idea of this new relationship was favoured and I'm very happy Wintreath felt the same. This new relationship benefits both regions allowing for an even bigger community of people and possibilities which would otherwise have been limited before.

As Autarch of New Hyperion I pledge my support to the Monarch of Wintreath and to protect and uphold the laws by which Wintreath is governed.

Thank you for a most hearty and earnest pledge.

Let it be known to all that I, the Monarch of Wintreath, have received the Autarch of New Hyperion and embraced his pledge of support, protection, and loyalty from himself and those he represents, and in turn I pledge the same to him and his. I pledge to utilize the rights and authorities granted to me as Suzerain in good faith, and to exercising those privileges in a manner honouring the agreements made between each other and our peoples. Furthermore, I promise to serve as Sovereign of, and embody the sovereignty of, New Hyperion in a manner befitting its Citizens and residents.

So I pledge to our people, before all assembled, as Monarch of Wintreath and New Hyperion.

As Chancellor of New Hyperion, and with the responsibility laid upon me by the people of New Hyperion, I say this: bloody good job, everyone. Especially Tau.

I'm just glad that the whole writing speeches part of the whole thing is over.
