Does anyone else here play any Smash games at all? I've been spending a lot of time on them over the past year or so, so I figured I'd dig around and see if I could find anyone around here with similar interests in it.

I've been playing Sm4sh a lot, but in about a month I'll be headed home and I don't have a Wii U or 3DS there, so I'll be going back to playing Melee and Brawl. I main Marth in every game, but I'm trying to pick up Greninja as a secondary in Sm4sh.

What is Smash? I guess that gives away that I don't play it. xD

It's a series of fighting games developed by Nintendo and featuring Nintendo characters. It's a lot of fun to play with friends, and also a lot of fun to play competitively imo. Instead of fighting to drain each other's life like in most fighting games, you're both ('both' implies two players, but you can have four in most games and eight in the most recent installment) trying to knock each other off of the map, which becomes easier as you rack up more damage on your opponent.

I'm SO bad at Smash I have Brawl and the fourth one, but I barely play them because I don't practice and thus am not good.

Aha! Team Liquid has a "Smash" team, but for the life of me I didn't know what Smash was until now.

That being said, I don't like fighting games much, so that probably explains why I didn't know.

It's okay, I'm currently rocking a 30% win rate on For Glory, so I feel your pain. 

Yesterday I played a few matches against some random Marth main online, and it was a lot of fun since we were both playing the same character and were about evenly matched. I played 3 matches (lost two of them), but went to sleep afterward because each one was taking up almost the entire time limit.

Yep! Most of the smash players I follow are from TSM (Team SoloMid; idk if they have teams in other games, but I'm assuming they do), but there's some I like from Liquid too.

I mostly follow TL with League of Legends, but they have a page on their website for every game that they have a team for. And yes, at the very least, TSM has a League of Legends team as well...in fact their on top of the summer standings at the moment.

I broke a few controllers on Melee, but I kind of lost interest with Brawl. Too floaty.

As for Sm4sh, I have it on 3DS, but I don't play online. It's just too laggy.

I started with Brawl so I'm one of those weird fucks who actually likes it a lot. I've been playing Melee a lot more recently, it's just hard to keep interest in it when there's no online play or a community of people who play it in my town.

I'm at my uncle's house for the summer, and he has Sm4sh for Wii U, so that's what I've been playing lately.

I've been an active player since Melee, and have at least played every version of the game. Currently I own only Brawl, and every once and a while can steal Sm4sh 3DS edition from my siblings (alas, I have but a DSi, so I must use their systems as well). I don't follow any big-name players of the game though; I just play for fun when I get the chance. I'm decent in comparison to my friends and family, but nowhere near good enough to play competitively.

Also, Moot, if you ever get the chance you should totally try Smash, especially if you're a Nintendo fan. I'm not usually a huge fan of fighting games either (ie Street Fighter) but Smash is just so different from the competitors. Platformer-type gameplay, more maneuverability, more diverse characters and stages, and that kind of thing. I highly suggest playing at least once.
In case anyone was wondering, I main Meta Knight (despite his Sm4sh nerf), Captain Falcon, and Fox. Sonic sometimes too.

I actually didn't care for Smash WiiU.  It felt lazy compared to even Smash 3DS.  I expected there to be a lack of engaging elements in the 3ds title because it's a handheld title.  I actually enjoyed the 3ds title the most out of the two because aside from the dlc characters...the WiiU title felt gutted compared to Brawl and even Melee.  The lack of any single player story-type of mode like the previous titles...not to mention the somewhat boring board game thingy just made it a bit of a snore to me.
