  • After entering the gym of your childhood school you are checked for valid Wintrean ID and granted access to abnormally sturdy looking voting booth. A soft, calm voice of your ethnic background starts speaking mere seconds after a hidden door swiftly thuds shut behind you.

Welcome, a small speaker announces. Series of questions will be presented to you, the voice states with a slight electronic tone, after which you will be released mostly unharmed. Please stay calm.

    Question 1
Greetings, citizen. Are you a candidate in these elections? If so, press the white button reading Aye and we will proceed directly to question #5.

    Question 2
Are you currently dissatisfied with any specific aspect of the region?

    Question 3
Do you closely follow and in any degree participate in the election debates prior to casting your votes?

    Question 4
Arrange following functions of the UH from most to least important. You have 10 seconds to comply.
    • Legislating
    • Promoting activity
    • Providing political careers
    • Upholding region's sovereignty
    • Connecting the Public and the Overhusen

    Please proceed to question #8.

    Question 5
Do you promise to not cast a vote for yourself and/or vote publicly?

    Question 6
Should political involvement of large houses be regulated to ensure the protection of the minority?

    Question 7
Does Wintreath lean more towards individualism or collectivism and is that lean ideal?

This concludes candidate specific questions. We will now cycle through common questions 2, 3 and 4. Annoyance is not tolerated, please comply.

    Question 8
Do you accept following challenge: For each candidate you cast a vote for and passes, you send 10 recruitment telegrams. Candidates send additional 10 recruitment telegrams per each vote they receive, and 50 bonus telegrams if they are elected. Time to comply: one month.

After punching in your final answer a long, low tone beebs and the door behind you slowly recedes allowing bright yellowish light to flood the booth. You receive a smiling stamp on your hand as you exit the gym.

  • It is, however I did my best to get around that. I personally understand every candidate who chooses not to answer on that basis. I tried to direct this towards very common topics and specifically towards voters instead of candidates, in an attempt to keep it fair.

    Question 2
Are you currently dissatisfied with any specific aspect of the region?
The only area I would say I am dissatisfied is the political/legislative area, I feel that it's gotten too invloved recently when it isn't something that the region should be all about. Though I also understand that this is definitely subjective

    Question 3
Do you closely follow and in any degree participate in the election debates prior to casting your votes?
Yes, even while I don't talk much I still try my best to follow closely. I often spend a few days after voting begins seeing debates and discussions continue and I am usually very careful in who I vote for.

    Question 5

I never have and firmly intend to never do so, I would rather abstain than vote for myself!

    Question 6
Should political involvement of large houses be regulated to ensure the protection of the minority?
This is something I agree with, democracy needs to be reigned in sometimes, though this doesn't just go for houses but any large identifiable group, of course this is my belief and I am sure many people disagree.

I would say Wintreath leans more towards individualism, which I would say suits such an accepting region very well. I myself feel that I lay in the middle between the two ideologies.

Hmm, perhaps this machine is just broken :P

*Sees two white buttons that say "Aye" and debates before choosing one.

    Question 5
Do you promise to not cast a vote for yourself and/or vote publicly?

Yes to both.  There's enough viable candidates to where I wouldn't feel right voting for myself above them.

    Question 6
Should political involvement of large houses be regulated to ensure the protection of the minority?

I'm not entirely sure what's been asked specifically here.  Regulated how, and protecting the minority in what sense?

    Question 7
Does Wintreath lean more towards individualism or collectivism and is that lean ideal?

I think it's a mix, neither hinging on either side.  We respect and value and encourage individualism....but at the same time we also respect that everyone has different approaches and opinions, and try to value each of them collectively.  It's an interesting balance.

    Question 2
Are you currently dissatisfied with any specific aspect of the region?

The lack of direction outside of certain areas, as I touched upon in I believe Robin's thread.  This isn't an easy problem to fix, however, and one that can't be done overnight.  This is something we need to sit down as a region and figure out.

    Question 3
Do you closely follow and in any degree participate in the election debates prior to casting your votes?

With candidates or topics that pique my interest, I do follow them prior to casting a vote.  It's nice to know where candidates stand if you're unsure before voting for them.

        Legislating
        Promoting activity
        Providing political careers
        Upholding region's sovereignty
Connecting the Public and the Overhusen

    Please proceed to question #8.

    1) Legislating
    2) Upholding region's soverneignty
    3) Providing political careers
    4) Promoting activity (this is more a collective job than just the UH)
    5) Connecting the Public and the Overhusen (which is done no matter what, anyways, and isn't very important because the UH is there to represent the people...and the OH is already connected enough to the public).

I'll pass on said challenge since I don't have the time for that kind of recruitment...it's a great initiative, but I'd only have time on my days off from work, and even those have been a little busier lately.
