This might seem like a weird question, but with the concept of some people being able to taste/smell color, see color from sounds and other such things, this particular subject seems intriguing to say the least.  When you think of a particular emotion (happy, sad, angry, envious, scared, etc...), what's the first idea that comes to mind of how that particular emotion would smell like?  What would it taste like?

It might depend on the person and what they perceive as tasting "good."  Personally, happiness to me would taste like...coffee.  Something strong, satisfying, and warm.  Fright or anxiety might be sour, anger would be spicy, sadness might be....bitterness.

Yeah, I definitely do not possess this form of synesthesia.

This is very true since good tastes/smells are very relative to the person themselves.  For me, happiness would smell/taste like a warm sugar cookie that just came out of the oven.  Anger would probably be like a really hot pepper, sadness would be like a minty ice cream, fright would be like that one smell you can't quite put your finger on, but it's one of those subtly bad ones.  Love would be the smell of lavender, and by extension the taste of lavender ice cream.  Envy/jealousy would probably taste like licorice.

As far as emotion is concerned, I could only describe them any would-be taste/smell as things that evoke within me a given emotion particularly strongly. Happy would be a delicious home-cooked meal because they bring to mind happy memories. Sad would probably be...chocolate pudding, but only because when I first started taking medication 11 years ago I had sprinkle capsules that I put in chocolate pudding and that pretty much ruined pudding for me. Angry would be something really spicy. I think angry and scared would both be something that tastes really bitter or just doesn't have taste at all.

Hm...to me, happiness would taste like cake, sadness would taste like frozen ice cream, anger would taste like thanksgiving turkey, and fear would taste like really bad and cheap chinese food.
