Ladies and gentlemen. My name is Aaron Specter.

I've been a member of the region for many months. I've been pretty active across the board in general, having participated in political discussions as well as even doing fun stuff like Werewolf (woo!).

Now, at last, I wish to gain elected office.

The Underhusen has slipped into a state where so many new laws - maybe most - being created, debated and passed are simply alterations to the procedural rules of the Underhusen itself... so it can go on creating, debating and passing laws in slightly different ways in the future. This isn't really the point of this region; not in my view anyway. From my perspective, we need to shake things up considerably so that things can be fun again.

I am aware that some other candidates have stated a similar goal in their campaigns and I welcome that. I'm hesitant to put anything too specific forward since I believe we should decide how to move forward based on consensus.

I'll be an active Skrifa who considers each new law with an eye to unnecessary complication of existing law and willing to play the devil's advocate as much as I can - so that the laws and changes that need to be made are made. If this sounds good to you, I urge you to vote for me.

If I read this election's campaigns correctly, I'm the only one going for judicial reform.

You mentioned that you didn't want to get into specifics, but can you give us an idea of the general direction you'd like to see the Storting go on any particular topics or initiatives?

I'm open to any idea really, as long as we get to discuss it and pass it. If the judicial law that's on referendum now passes I'd want to make sure that all sitting Skrifa are content with it and if not, why not, and to move forward so we can put the issue to bed.

We need to explore other subject areas as well, otherwise we risk getting lost in our own old laws session after session as I said in my first post: things like looking at the activity of the Riksrad departments and seeing if there are concerns there.

I'm not particularly afraid of stepping outside the traditional purview of the UH every now and again just to poke at something for fun - since that's what I see this game and this region as being and I'd hate to be someone who takes it too seriously - but obviously everything would be based on consensus and geared towards maintaining fun, activity and representation.
