WM is also highly observant of the laws of the region. The only main thing preventing him from abusing the power in his eyes is the law. As soon as this is allowed he becomes able to do whatever he wants, because the law allows it.

How does @Wintermoot respond?

With all due respect, if my goal was to abuse power I'd hardly need permission from the Storting before I did so.

I've already discussed at length why I feel that provision is needed...to maintain the peace and break-up disturbances in that peace, and I've already pointed out that the IRC has already operated under these rules for nearly two years without any real controversy. I'm not sure if Chanku feels I have ulterior motives to suggesting the provision or if he feels I'm lying in my explanation, but as I said before any fear that Citizens are going to wake up and find themselves summarily banned because a section of the Fundamental Laws was changed is unjustified and overhyped. Laws are simply words on paper, and there are other regions where founders have abused their power even with restrictions like what we have now and gotten away with it...however, I do not believe this community would stand for such actions, because we've cultivated a community that respects the rule of law and cherishes our regional principles. I would like to think that my example of being "highly observant of the laws of the region" has helped.

To state it clearly, there is nothing that I want. There's no action that I plan on taking under this enhanced authority, and given how peaceful our region usually is it may be a long time before it's actually utilized. However, we may find ourselves in a situation where someone is disrupting the community and refuses to backdown...it may be because they have some malicious intent, or they just happen to be upset at something or someone. If and when that time comes, we'll be glad that administration can take action immediately whether that action is an official warning, placing the person on post moderation, putting them on temp-ban, or some other necessary action. That's why I feel that it is needed...it's not an authority I have designs on using for some purpose, it's a provision that will be there just in case.
