I request that the Root Administrator and Monarch ignore the requests for Tim's banning from the IRC Channel. While some of what he says is a possibility it is no secret that there is a HIGH possibility of a conflict of interest with Govindia hating Tim. Therefore there is a possibility of Govindia only wanting Tim to be banned out of spite.

FURTHER we have no proof it was Tim, and Gov's railing to get him banned is no different than people wanting him banned due to the allegations against him. In both cases proof is lacking.

You are anti-Govindia and always welcome anyone here who antagonises me an you know Tim illegally banned me from Spiritus out of personal spite. 

I feel that Tim has contributed to this withdrawal, along with possibly of Denth and Alterra.  They have not respected Wintreath very much so since they've left, especially the with the latter two making pot shots at Wintreath and Wintermoot since they left, including Alterra's false accusations.

Again you feel like he has done this, yet you lack proof. I could say that I feel you are guilty of what you have been accused of, yet it warrants no action from Wintreath due to said lack of proof. Even then the banning would be based upon hearsay, and if you maintain that your bannings in other regions are based upon hearsay, due to a lack of proof, then you should extend said courtesy to Tim unless you wish to be called a hypocrite for your actions. The banning of Tim on hearsay would also open up a dangerous precedent that could lead to the banning of anyone, and that I hope Wintermoot has enough sense to not do.

Further, your banning in Spiritus has no relevance here, aside from the fact that it is somewhat clear that you and Tim do not like each other and that it makes it possible that your wish of banning Tim is out of spite. So again your claims are baseless without proof.

And here you want to illegally ban Tim from Wintreath? Two wrongs don't make a right.

If true, this is a very serious matter...the sovereignty of our region will have been violated, possibly as a result of lies and slander depending on the 'things' he supposedly learned, at the probably hands of people who have demonstrated open hostility to this region.

I would appreciate it if responses would come from a place of consideration about what is best for the region, and not from the various IRC pissing matches that are regularly in play.

While it may be true, we have to consider that it may be false, and acting on hearsay is not a good idea, especially if we think about the precedent that will set.

To what effect? That a Citizen left because someone said something in a region that doesn't like us?

The real question is how we as a region can best protect our good name, especially from unjust attacks?

Simply put, just keep doing what we're doing in promoting an open, tolerant, and accepting citizen base, and a warm, caring, and open atmosphere.

Really, doing much else begs the question of us trying to cover our asses and give people wiggle room to believe that we're hiding something or lying about what we're about as a region.

They want to slander us? Fine, that's totally on them.  Wintreath can take the higher ground, turn the other cheek, and continue being the good and welcoming region it's always been.  The only way they can really tarnish our name is if we do something that gives them reason to do so.

We can't actively change someone's mind or force them to believe that what they've heard about us is false.  Even giving a public statement won't clear doubts of people such as Ben who may be going simply on rumor alone.  We can only do what we do best and hope that people will see past the rumors and slander.

I will say, there's also the possibility that Ben had no intentions of seriously joining Wintreath.  For all we know, he could have been sent by Spiritus simply to attempt to tarnish our name by supposedly "learning something" that made him "question" his "citizenship" here.

Perhaps he just developed a crush to one of our citizens, had a short summer romance with her/him and left after realizing that they have no future together.

Not everything has to be about politics, especially in a region that's full of as awesome people as ours is.

Reasons about things he learned that he can't talk about...if that doesn't have NS politics and vendettas written all over it, I don't know what does.

In any case, as over 24 hours have passed I've processed his revocation. As per general policy any future Citizenship application by him will not be accepted without a full account of the reasons behind his departure (and return), assuming his reasons for being here to start with were sincere, as Pengu questioned.

Otherwise, we'll continue being the great region we are...shame someone's going to miss out on that.
