  • Micropolis is basically Sim City for free. (It's available via package manager on most Linux Distros and you can find it around for Windows).

I also had an interesting idea, a Micropolis succession city. Essentially the idea is a person plays for a certain amount of time and then passes it off to the next player. They keep a record of what they do. It might not be that interesting, but could be fun.
    See you later space cowboy.

  • A rotation... So like what's being plotted for Dwarf Fortress...
Sounds cool, it's not my sorta thing but I do support it...

  • Micropolis is the first version of SimCity...EA made it open-source and removed their trademarks and branding, so that's why it's renamed. :P

This was actually one of the first games I received for the computer. I remember spending hours plotting cities and imagining things with them...I'd even draw out city plans on paper when I was at school, lol. Compared to later versions of SimCity this one doesn't have near as many options, but is much easier to learn and master. Of course, SimCity 2000 is still my favourite in the series, but it's not exactly free. :P
