Salutations, %NATION%, and welcome to Wintreath!

Thanks for choosing Wintreath as your new home in NationStates! We're glad to have you as part of our region, and I would love to get to know you better as you get settled into the region. As the Monarch of this region, I want to make sure your time with us is both fun and successful, and to get you started on whichever path you want to go on I'm sending you this message to help you get started. In general, the best advice that I can give you is to jump into the region with both feet...join the community! Be active! Make a name for yourself! You get out what you put into this game, and it's much more fun getting to know your region-mates and being involved with making the region a better place for others.

If you want want to just answer issues twice a day, that's perfectly fine! But if you want to do more...

1) Read our guide for new nations!
This guide gives you advice on how to get started in various areas of the region, from becoming part of the community to participating in government to being involved in roleplays. It will guide you through the process of becoming a Citizen of the region, which is vital for taking part in many parts of the region, and introduce you to our off-site forums, chatroom, and other guides that may be relevant to what you're wanting to do. If you have questions, this guide probably has at least some of the answers.

2) Take note of our off-site areas
If you're in a hurry and can't read the guide right now, at least keep note of our off-site forums and chatroom. Along with the region page, these are areas you can come to to chat with region-mates, ask questions, and get help. Most of our regional activities are hosted outside the NationStates website because it's easier to organize and develop our own website and forums to best suit the needs of the region and the community, so it's good to at least know where these places are.

3) Join the World Assembly and endorse our Delegate, [nation=short]De La Malvarma[/nation], and Vice-Delegate [nation=short]Point Breeze[/nation].
The World Assembly is NationStates's version of the United Nations, where proposals are submitted and voted upon. Endorsing our delegate and Vice-Delegate increases the power of Wintreath's votes on these proposals, and also better protects the region from any hostile forces that want to invade our region and seize the Delegacy for themselves. To begin the process of joining the World Assembly, just check out the World Assembly page linked to below and click "Apply to Join". Once you have joined, you can endorse nations by going to their nation page and clicking the button to endorse them.

4) Don't be afraid to ask questions!
We were all new to NationStates at one time, and most of us would not be here if it were not for the other players that helped us, answered our questions, and taught us what we needed to know. I know that to new players this game can seem both boring and simplistic, and complex and impossible to grasp. We have a number of experienced players in the region that can help you and answer any questions you may have. Your success is our success, and we want you to succeed here in Wintreath, so don't be afraid to ask questions on our region page, our forum, or our chatroom.
