As announced
here, the forums of The South Pacific experienced a security breach which allowed someone to download a copy of their database, which included hashed and salted passwords. The risk to individual users is low, especially if they used a strong password that can beat cracking attempts, but anyone that has an account on their forums should still change passwords if they are using the same one elsewhere, including here in Wintreath. At this time there is no evidence that NS players are being specifically targetted, but one can never be too safe.
As always, I
highly encourage everyone to adopt strong passwords and to refrain from using the same password in multiple places. You may change your password from your account settings.
I understand that the issue that allowed for the breach to occur has already been resolved, but we wish The South Pacific the best as they move forward from this troubling development.
