  • I watched a bit of this the other night, it looks like a good film.

I urge anyone who has HBO to look into The Normal Heart.

Starring Mark Rufalo as a gay activist, it is an interesting look into the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York of the early 1980's.

That's my suggestion, and I'll look into yours JW :)

<+IH> There needs to be some constant to life that we can hold onto, something extremely difficult to find if we are constantly on the move.
<@Vidarr> I hold onto the constant of change
    <+IH> How delightfully paradoxical.

<@IH> Omega also suits you, it’s the symbol for electrical resistance.
    <@Delta> Are you saying I'm slow? :P
<@IH> You were a component (see what I did there?) of the resistance in Wintreath, were you not?

  • I keep seeing Short Term 12 on Netflix and mean to watch it...it just looks so sad.

Dallas Buyers Club is a fantastic film if you haven't had the chance to watch it yet.

  • Maybe not the entire movie, but I always thought about the end of inception.

    (ACTUAL) SPOILER
Cutting to black right when the top starts to wobble a little--is he dreaming or not? Well perhaps it doesn't even matter....

Always liked thinking about that part. I really like Nolan's stuff. Quite an epic director. Can't wait for Interstellar, the teaser was brilliant.

  • The idea of inception was pretty cool.

    (Actual) Spoiler
I think that was an intentional nod to the audience from Nolan for us to decide.
My thoughts are that the main character had already died and was experiencing the effects of the DMT/Death Cocktail running through his system.
From what I've read whenever you die your body releases a number of "OK everything is done, let's wrap it up here" chemicals.
One of those is DMT [also called the spirit molecule] (A chemical your body produces naturally when you sleep) and the other is similar to what you experience when taking LSD.

For more information about DMT watch "Enter the Void" in 2009 and the 2010 documentary "DMT: The Spirit Molecule".

  • I've always loved the movie "Violet and Daisy." It's an enjoyable romp without thinking and with it becomes so much more fun. It helped me to redefine my morals and to question my everyday actions against what was right and what I have already done and for that it will always hold a special place in my heart.

  • In light of the current events, Louis Theroux's documentary on the Ultra-Zionists is fascinating. You will see Israelis say with a very straight face that they are better than the Palestinians because they are God's chosen people and they should have the land because God gave it to them.

It also contrasts adequately the life of the Jewish colonists and the life of Palestinian villagers.

  • Just watched this Wes Anderson movie;

    The Darjeeling Limited
Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman

    Just fantastic!
I love Wes Anderson movies by default, but this one was done especially well.
