  • I feel that this;

    5. Major Crimes
    5.1.3 Committing an act of aggression towards another Wintreath resident.

    and this;

    8. Statute of Limitation on this Act
    8.2 Major Crimes must be brought before the court within one (1) month of their occurrence.

    are not cohesive.

    In the situation I am presently in I can not press the issue of 5.1.3 because of the fact I have waited longer than the statute of limitations to press charges. This is mainly because I have been told to let this issue pass over.
    I have tried to let everything pass; however, I am continually being harassed.
    To some this is felt as a 'personal matter', but again I hardly see how harassment (read as: aggression) is a personal matter. My main concern here is not my harassment. I do not feel confident in the current system to defend me in pursuit of my claims.

    My interest here is to question the duality of this Statute;
    8. Statute of Limitation on this Act
    8.2 Major Crimes must be brought before the court within one (1) month of their occurrence.

    Harassment by definition usually occurs over a period of time.
    Aggression can be loosely defined based on the beholder's understanding of whether or not something was meant to be aggressive.
    Harassment, depending on the severity, can be seen as aggressive or passive-aggressive.
    The point is, harassment happens over a period of time, and if you use other means available (such as mediation) first, it is very easy to fall out of the aforementioned Statute's time frame.
    Thus I must conclude I am not confident a month is a long enough period to bring witness to a Major Crime.

    My rationale? Real life.
    Say you were bullied in school, or even attacked; under this condition of law you would have one month to report this harassment or you would fall short of having any ability to pursue claim. Say for instance you are advised first to go to a school counselor, who tells you to ignore the bully; but then their advice doesn't work.
    Well because you sought the advice of "let time heal this" you then fall short of being able to rightfully pursue a claim of harassment.

    See the point?
    A month is nowhere near long enough for the statute of limitations for a Major Crime.

    I leave this before the Storting to review as they wish.

  • Due to the lack of a clarification, I assume it could be pursed from any instance within the Statue of Limitations.

    I believe that is correct.
