The Regional Stability Squad (RSS) has approved a major overhaul of our forums, which you can explore
on our forum front page.
Like we did with the Discord overhaul over the summer, we've reduced number of forums and sub-forums to make the front page easier to browse and use, especially for new members. It also better reflects modern Wintreath. For example, most general and casual discussion now happen on the Discord, so general discussion has been condensed into a single area. There's also no NationStates-based governing body, so those forums have been removed. In its place, a forum for NationStates discussion and a forum for general Wintreath governance. In fact, the one area we've expanded on is The Amalyan Quarter, which now reflects the things we do just like the Discord category: NationStates, Minecraft, Werewolf/Mafia, and other games. And spam games...we can't forget about the spam games.
While this is the biggest overhaul of the forum front page in several years, there is more to come. I am working on a major forum upgrade and redesign. The current forum skin/design has been largely unchanged over the years, and with so much old custom code going back over a decade, this is a long-needed update that will look better and act better on mobile devices. More information about this will come later on. Who knows? Maybe there'll even be a dark mode.
The glory days of forums may be long-gone, but our forums are still the public face of our community, a repository of our history, and the home of many of our games such as Werewolf. When these projects are finished, I expect our forums will serve us better than before as we enter our second decade of Wintreath!
