18 hours isn't a lot of data, but what I see so far is promising.
Since making these changes, our nation count has risen from 361 nations to 372, which is probably the most impactful stat from this.
In that time, 501 nations have been marked as having a default flag vs. 1698 who have adopted another flag, which means that we're shrinking our pool of recruits by 1/3. This is good especially for API recruitment, which is limited to 1 telegram every 3 minutes...it's to our benefit to make sure they're going to nations that are more likely to want to join. Out of those 501 nations, only 18 have moved to a region that isn't a puppet region (most stay in the GCR they spawned in), further suggesting that excluding nations with default flags is the right move.
Excluding GCRs and puppet nations, here is where the nations who have adopted another flag have moved to:
1. Europeia - 29 nations
2. The Communist Bloc - 21 nations
3. The Kodiak Republic - 19 nations
4. United Kingdom - 18 nations
5. Thaecia - 11 nations
6. Yggdrasil - 11 nations
7. Conch Kingdom - 10 nations
8. The Union of Democratic States - 10 nations
9. Wintreath - 10 nations
10. The Eternal Order - 9 nations
Given that we were overall ranked 52nd in the 30 days prior to making these changes, this suggest that these changes have really improved our recruiting. However, there is obviously room for further growth, too.
One issue I discovered is that our recruitment telegram hasn't been updated in 4 years. It actually still promotes the Underhusen, and is so old that the section about the RP Guild has become relevant again. The Cabinet is in the process of updating the telegram, which may help improve our recruitment too.
