As we welcome October, we also look at how things have been going in our community in the last month. September was mostly good for Wintreath, with the forums posting a slight decline, activity improving back to spring levels on the Discord, and RMB activity surging again the best numbers its had since January. The details for each platform are below, but now the onus is on us to take our improvements in September and improve even more this month!

There were slightly fewer posts in September than there were in August, with Mage Wars being the main driver of activity. Mage Wars personifies an issue we've been having lately: plenty of interest in hosting forum games, but little interest in playing them. I'm hoping that this has been because of the summer lull, and that with some better promotion we'll get all our forum games going again.

On the other hand, Discord finally saw some improvements, recording its best numbers since May. Some factors in that growth include the successful rollout of a safe for work channel in the adult community and NationStates N-Day, but general chat improved as well. Even better, this growth came despite archiving the spam and media forums, which had contributed a significant number of posts back in August, suggesting that removing spam posts might actually create more conversations. Despite the growth though, activity on Discord is still only about half of what it was a year ago, and is around 1/8th of what it was prior to the Schism in 2019, so there's much work to be done to get where we once was.

If the RMB had a great month last month, this month it had a spectacular one...activity tripled to the best levels since this last January and set the record for most active September. N-Day had a positive impact on the RMB, as well as a recent RP conflict, but like the Discord it seems that just chat generally has been more active. With so many great months this year, we can already see that 2021 will be the most active year on the RMB in Wintreath's history...with 3 months in the year to go!

Thanks to a number of birthdays this month, the median Citizen age went back to 24...exactly where it was before last month. You could say that for the last while median age has remained mostly stable, with nothing significant to report.
