I'm not sure how to test a resolution higher than my own, to be honest. My resolution is 1680 x 1050.

The main forum area has a maximum width of 1300px plus 1% padding, so the easiest solution would be to reduce it...but that will probably cause problems on the front page that has a sidebar.

The spacing on the topbox looks fine to me as well, but that's probably also due to the resolution difference.

I will have to give this some thought...

It's honestly not a big deal if you don't solve it. Bigger monitors tend to end up with this problem. When I had a big desktop monitor, things were even worse lol.

Possibly media query to turn topbox into sidebar on desktop (or just larger screens) would work? But it seems like you prefer topbox on smaller desktops, and not sure if it makes sense to handle a case for larger desktops...

Making a note that the removal of subforum descriptions combined with the day-based dating makes navigating the archives pretty hard (eg: trying to find the right Summersend forum).

As of today, forum mods and admins can update the information about the forum that appears at the top of the list of topics! They can do this by hitting the "Modify" button, updating the information in the text area, and then hitting the "Submit" button below the text area. The text area uses the new editor too, meaning they can add any sort of BBCode as if it were a post. 

Also, when the last post in a topic is more than a week old, the date of the post will appear rather than how many days ago it was made.

@taulover, could you provide a screenshot of how it's looking for you? I'll make an attempt to tackle some of the issues you mentioned.

Sorry about not responding in time for the official release.

If you're talking about the spacing, it probably looks the same for you as it does for me, just stretched out more. I just think it needs a bit more padding to look nicer regardless of screen size.

Most of the padding is defined in pixels, so where your screen is higher resolution and possibly has more pixels per inch, it's going to look smaller than on a larger screen with more pixels...increasing the amount of pixels will probably make it look like too much padding on other screens while looking right for you. The solution is probably to switch it to something like em which is supposed to account for different screen sizes and resolutions, but that's going to take some experimentation.

Ah yeah I understand what you mean, spacing with em definitely is the right solution but when so much old code relies on px that's hard.
