Underhusen elections have finished, meaning that I can finally announce our government for the Winter season! This season saw openings in just about every position in the region, meaning that there's a lot of faces and a lot of announcements to make. Let's get right to it!
The CabinetAs you know, none of the Thane positions were contested, so everyone who stood and put up a campaign won by default! We will have a lot of familiar faces in the Cabinet, but we'll also have a new member in
@Dawsinian: a founding member of the region who has returned to us and quickly involved himself in nearly every part of the region, from recruiting to organizing Among Us games to serving on the Underhusen and Citizens' Council. He has the knowledge, experience, and drive to help build our community in just about any area, and I know his presence in the Cabinet will be a welcome one.
We also have some members not returning the Cabinet.
@Excalibur and
@monkey both decided not to run for re-election in order to focus on their offline lives, and their presence will be missed. Excalibur has been our Thane of Roleplay for over a year now, always running either unopposed or easily beating his competition, which shows the trust the community had for him in that position that won't be easily replaced. monkey joined our Cabinet more recently, and was an active contributor to our discussions with both thoughts and ideas. Thanks to both of you for your service in the Cabinet, and I hope you'll consider joining us again in the future.
The Citizens' CouncilWe had 5 candidates to fill 5 positions on the Citizens' Council, and they are
@W Amadeus,
@BraveSirRobin,
@Gerrick,
@Chanku, and
@The Greenlandic North. The represent a mix of new Citizens and old, with interests in all different areas of the region, and because of that I'm sure they'll do a great job of working with the Cabinet and representing the interests of you, our Citizens, to us. Congratulations to them!
The UnderhusenThe only contested election this season was met mostly with disinterest, with only 13 Citizens casting a ballot, making it the least active Underhusen election since June 2017. Even when Citizens did decide to vote, over half of them (7) voted abstain at least once, meaning they could not get behind 5 candidates. Nonetheless, the election was decisive, and the winners are listed below. Congrats to them!
10 - @Red Mones
09 - @Dawsinian
08 - @Gerrick
07 - @Barnes
07 - @Doc03 -
@Chanku*There were 14 abstain votes
The OverhusenI'm happy to announce that
@taulover will be joining us! He will be taking the seat that Aragonn held before, and I believe he brings a lot to the position. He's very active by Overhusen standards, has an extensive history in the Storting and with regional law, and will continue a tradition of having a representative from New Hyperion on the body. It's always uncertain what the Overhusen will be doing from season to season, if anything, but I know that taulover will do a great job of representing me when the Overhusen considers anything that comes across. Please join me in congratulating him as well! Also, thanks to Aragonn for his years of service in the position.
