Yosh fellow Wintreans, Sapph here

Let's get the serious and repetitive stuff out of the way first. After joining the community in 2014, I have served as a Skrifa, Speaker of the Underhusen, Thane of Culture and recently, Citizens' Council Member. Now onto more interesting stuff.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that if you were to sleep like a log, you would wake up in the fire place. It should not be surprising to find out that when I searched for how to find a solution for the Underhusen, the results came "no matches found". While it did not delight me, it made me see the light and reignited my creative spark.

My first term in the Underhusen saw the ratification of the Omnibus Correction Act, which yes it did satisfy my internal spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting uniformity checker, in retrospect is nothing more than busywork. And this should be taken into consideration when that term is regarded as a high activity term.

My next term in the Underhusen saw me as the Speaker of the Underhusen, who set the agenda of "Establish a suitable replacement to take charge of the Underhusen's legislative duties while providing another avenue of advancement." This in turn led to many productive discussions in the Constitutional Convention, but led to no real outcome beyond trauma and fatigue. The fact that such a discussion started as early as 2015 is noteworthy.

Recently, I was elected as a Citizens' Council Member, under the premise that "this can possibly be a replacement for our defunct legislature in the future". Since this newly created institution is in its formative years, I will watch its career with great interest.

Therefore, why am I here? We didn't start the fire, it was always burning.

Same questions I asked Dawsinian...what do you believe the future of the Storting should be? Obviously you're part of Burn It Down, but do you believe it should be reformed, replaced, or removed entirely?

Also, I know you've already posted your reply to what the region means to you in the Citizens' Council, but I invite you to share it here if you would like.

I don’t really have an issue with the Overhusen doing the vetting work with higher level of scrutiny on legislation. But for the Underhusen, I am convinced it’s defunct, beyond salvation where reform used to be a possibility. Whilst I am not all that concerned or bothered to find the best replacement to take over its legislative duties, advancement in the region remains an important driver of activity and commitment. Which is why we should discuss and explore more of monkey’s “Underhusen Modernisation Plan” (in the Citizens’ Platform) as well as Wintermoot’s agenda for the Citizens’ Council.

One of the goals could be how we can ease the barrier between elected officials and fellow Wintreans so that the former can effectively represent the interests and opinions of the latter. And perhaps it would be easier without the emotional luggage and historical animosity of the Underhusen.

Wintreath remains a sentimental place for me, being the only online community I have been in and continue to be since my teenage years. The ideal form of Wintreath is a drama-free, close-knit community that is averse to unwarranted toxicity and aggression. Whilst I still hang around every now and then, the reason why I logged in daily years back is the opportunity to interact with the friends I have been privileged to find here and be free to be who I am, with the forums elevating into a refuge when I am facing real life frustrations.
