  • Section I: Basic Information
    1) I am a somewhat experienced player of NationStates looking for a region that can fulfill my desire for roleplay, in depth politics, and a welcoming and supportive community. My goals are to develop my nations history through its interactions with others and become an influential member in the Wintreath government, specifically, I'm looking to learn more about legislature.
    2) Central Time Zone
    3) I found Wintreath through a combination of research of the top regions (I wanted a powerful but not too large region - large enough to make a difference internationally, small enough that I have a place in it) and a telegraph from Wintermoot.
    4) The community intrigued me as being a welcoming community with a good legal system and interesting structure without political requirements
    Section II: NationStates
    5) What is the name of your Wintreath nation in Wintreath?
    The Republic of Palanza
    6) Do you have nations in any other regions? If so, where? Also, do you serve in any official roles in any of them? If so, what are they?
    No, and no.
    7) Are you new to NationStates?
    Nope!

  • Welcome to Wintreath, @Palanza! Your application has been approved! I hope that you enjoy being part of our region and community, and that you have fun. :)

Our legislature is divided into two parts: the Overhusen (an upper house whose members are appointed by me), and the Underhusen (a lower house whose members are elected every two months). All legislation begins in the Underhusen, which can modify, approve, or reject legislation...then if it's approved, it goes to the Overhusen, which can only vote to approve or reject. If rejected, the Underhusen can still override by a supermajority vote.

As it so happens, nominations and standing for Underhusen are open right now, so it might be something you'd be interested in looking into. :)
