Hi everybody, I'm Katie. If you don't know me, I've been Thane of Ambassadors (Diplomatic Officers and Missions) since December 2018 and Thane of Integration since March of this year. In both, I have gone above and beyond my core duties to make each position better.
I'm running again so that I can continue these practices, such as maintaining the ambassador program or publishing the Wintrean Oracle. The maintenance of these practices is what I want to accomplish, and I see no need for more at this time.
My mandates are as follows:

Thane of Ambassadors

The Department of Diplomatic Officers and Missions is tasked with managing and maintaining our Diplomatic Officer and Mission Programme to other regions and organizations within NationStates.
The Diplomatic Officer Programme, as ran under this ministry, is to rank each Diplomatic Officer with a general ranking, which the gaining of higher ranks includes privileges and other incentives for the performance of Ambassadorial duties. The exact specifics of this organization are left to the Thane of Diplomatic Officers and Missions.

I have fulfilled my mandate for Thane of Ambassadors by keeping in contact and collaborating with our embassy regions to ensure that all ambassadors are assigned, up-to-date, posting foreign updates, and are satisfying to their assigned region. I have also successfully maintained the ranking system I established in December.

Thane of Integration

Represent the gaming community in the Riksrad and regularly take part in Cabinet meetings and discussions
Ensure that Citizen applicants are properly welcomed to the region and given information of use to them
Assist in determining the previous experience, skills, talents, and interests of new applicants and direct them to areas of Wintreath that may interest them
Encourage Citizens to remain connected and engaged with the community
Encourage Citizens who have gone inactive to come back and give our community another chance
Encourage participation in multiple areas of Wintreath (ie. forums, Discord, the region page)

I have fulfilled my mandate for Thane of Integration by greeting new people as they apply for citizenship, directing new people to the forums when they ask on the RMB, and interacting with new nations on the RMB.
I have not done any tasks or representation regarding the gaming community, as I believe that to be the job of the Thane of Gaming, but I will note that I do play videogames quite a bit and always welcome fellow players. I have also not successfully convinced any inactive citizens to return. Despite this, I have been making efforts to do so.

My qualifications for these positions are my experience in the positions themselves, having served in both for at least half a year. In the coming 4 months, my activity will face a significant decline due to real life factors. However, I will attempt to maintain my publications, interact with new citizens, and continue my work with the ambassadorial programme.

Just something I noticed, though - I'm pretty sure that in the context of Thaneships, Wintermoot uses "mandate" to refer to a campaign promise that is separate from/in addition to the job duties?

As part of this, you must include at least one thing that you promise to do beyond the minimum listed duties of the position during your term. It should be measurable, so that it's black and white whether you fulfilled this mandate at the end of the term if you are elected.

This is, rather confusingly, the opposite of how Chanku (and by extension, UH procedural law) later used "mandate" in the context of Underhusen Officers, to refer to the job duties of the position.

Wait what? I don't know if I agree with this one. Moot has always posed that question separately from the mandate question.

True, but he never uses "mandate" to refer to anything else anywhere else. The last sentence of that question suggests that you will be held accountable to that mandate, which is what the sub-question then proceeds to ask. (I've always read it that way at least; I remember it as how Moot used "mandate" when first creating the system and it's stuck to me that way.)

I think the confusion comes when 1. Moot never defines or explains "mandate" except in passing and 2. a lot of people are coming to the Riksrad from the Underhusen, where "mandate" has taken on a completely different meaning after Chanku's officer system got implemented.

That said I might be completely wrong - @Wintermoot could you please clarify?

(And sorry about using your campaign post to talk about this, it's just the first time I consciously realized that this was happening.)
