Remnants of the Winter [Interest]

  • So, I've actually recently come up with an interesting idea for a roleplay, it's a bit like Wintreath Bleeds, but with a bit of From the Ashes tossed in. It is set in a universe that is adjacent to Wintreath Bleeds, as in it's similar in some of the events, but it takes place later than Wintreath Bleeds and after the Interregnum. However, during the time a Civil War began and due to the collapse of the Wintreath Government, the region split into a bunch of different nations, most vying for power over the entirety of Wintreath with some just concerned with existing.

Each person would join a 'state', which is kinda like how families are in Wintreath Bleeds (at least in terms of being an organizational unit). Additionally, families would exist within this Roleplay, but the extent that Families play a role would be different for each 'state', some would have a higher degree of familial roleplay while others would have much less. Each person would play as a character (or perhaps several), and wouldn't directly control each faction, but instead could influence each faction to a decent degree.

I guess I should probably talk about each faction now, right now I have five main factions, and two additional ones (seven total), although I can remove the two additional ones without much trouble. The factions are as follows:
    • The Frozen Realm of Wintreath
    • The Wintrean Kingdom of Winter
    • The Frozen Republic of Wintreath
    • The New Hyperian Free State
    • The Northern Confederacy
    • The Southern Confederacy
    • The Elemental Republic

As you can tell there are two of almost every government (Confederacy, Republic, and Kingdom), although there is only one state like the Hyperian State. It would use a modified Weissreich map (to include Hyperia and a bit more of the Elemental Republic, along with new cities and to have territories). A brief description of each faction is given below:

    The Frozen Realm of Wintreath
The Frozen Realm of Wintreath is what remains of the original Wintrean Government, while there is a king it holds little territory and is practically a rump state, not even holding the historical capital of Frostlake City.
    The Wintrean Kingdom of Winter
Initially part of the Frozen Realm, the two sides were together until the selection of a new King where the two split apart, leading to the two sides having a war amongst themselves, this break-away-kingdom claims to be the Frozen Realm, but uses a new name. Due to the falling apart of the Frozen Realm, they ended up taking a decent chunk of the land from the realm. However they do not hold Frostlake City.
    The Frozen Republic of Wintreath
Originally the Frozen Realm, with the Storting effectively creating a republic to help stave off total collapse during the interregnum, the Frozen Republic officially cemented itself when the blood shed started. While there were plans to return to the Realm after the war, most people in the Republic were content with its operations, and due to disagreement between the King(s) in both the Frozen Realm and the Wintrean Kingdom, the Frozen Republic officially broke away, due to this they managed to hold Frostlake City, and have a decent portion of the territory around it, and are one of the more powerful 'states'.
    The New Hyperian Free State
The Civil War wasn't just contained to just the main-land, but spread to Hyperia as well, during this time a collection of people, claiming to be the legitimate government of the territory of Hyperia left the Realm by claiming to invoke a clause in the treaty that made them a territory, however many in Hyperia don't view them as legitimate, leading to them holding some territory, but not much. The other powers in Hyperia are the Republic and both Kingdoms, with the Frozen Realm managing to hold more than the Winter Kingdom.
    The Northern Confederacy
The Norther Confederacy formed during the late interregnum and helped start the Civil War, albeit not intentionally. Due to the downfall of the Wintrean Government, several Northern Cities decided to take matters into their own hands, and left Wintreath proper forming a confederacy to help each other out, leading to the start of the Civil War. They do not claim legitimacy as a Wintreath Successor, and aren't against rejoining into one giant Wintreath again, but they do want more of a say if they do.
(Note: This would just become the Confederacy of States if the Southern Confederacy doesn't exist)
    The Southern Confederacy
The Southern Confederacy officially started after the Northern Confederacy broke away, due to similar reasons, albeit it mostly being self-defense after the Elemental Republic started to try and take Wintreath back after a long period of having lost it. The Southern Confederacy is much like the Northern Confederacy in terms of legitimacy claims and rejoining, however they are not likely to join any state until the Elemental Republic is taken care of.
    The Elemental Republic
Basically Spritus, which due to the Civil War and the collapse of the central authority, decided to attempt to take Wintreath back into their own territory. While it has been several hundred years since they last held Wintreath, due to the collapse of most states, they don't really recognize any of the states as legitimate.

No Wintreath Families would exist in the Elemental Republic, and no families in the Elemental Republic would really exist in any of the Wintreath or Hyperian Factions as well

So yeah, it's just a bit rough at this time, however this is what I've thought up and decided to post to see if there is any interest and to get feedback on it.

  • If we're setting it in the same universe as Wintreath Bleeds, I can only comment that the Peninsula of Andros would doubtless be an important part of the Southern Confederacy. Fitch Freedom Fighters Forever!

I feel this is a slight misconception, however this isn't necessarily taking place in the same universe as Wintreath Bleeds. It takes place in a Universe that is similar enough to Wintreath Bleeds, but there are differences so what occurs in Wintreath Bleeds won't necessarily effect this. In the Universe this occurs in, the RP starts later than Wintreath Bleeds (so if they did occur in the same universe, Wintreath Bleeds would occur first).

The main reason why I say a Universe Adjacent is because I don't necessarily want to be bound to the world created in Wintreath Bleeds, and instead do want a bit more freedom in the world. Although, having said this, things that happens in Wintreath Bleeds COULD happen here, albeit the outcome might be different, along with how it happens.

Another post-Wintermoot RP...I'm starting to wonder if people are trying to give me a hint here. :P
To be fair in these worlds, it would already be a 'post-Wintermoot' world, as hundreds have years have passed since the founding, so yeah...It's more-so a 'post-Kestar' world that we are exploring.
