Voting for the Thane elections are now open! You may vote for one candidate for each Thane position you have been listed as an eligible voter for. If your name does not appear on the voter list and you feel this is in error, please post with a link to the post/activity on the forums that you believe makes you an eligible voter. Ballots will be counted and the results given at the end of elections one week from today. Good luck to all our candidates!

I vote for Tau. I'm sure Katie would be wonderful, but right now, I just can't see a reason to fix something that isn't broken. Indeed, Tau is possibly the best we've ever seen for this position.

I vote for tau. I'm sure that Katie would be a great Info Thane but I worry about her workload. I can attest that it can be a bit much.

As much as I trust Katie, she has had problems getting the Underhusen reports out on time. As good as they are, I will vote for Taulover.

I vote for Tau, he's got a specific and actionable plan, along with the reasoning posted in other votes. 

While I'm sure Katie would be great, I vote for tau as well. We've worked well together for the past couple Orendis, and, like Laurentus said, why fix something that ain't broke.

On balance, I'm inclined towards Tau, mostly on the grounds of so far it ain't broke and I don't think it needs fixing.
That said (and I must stress that this is in no way supposed to sound like some sort of consolation prize), I think that a serious look should be given towards appointing Katie as Thane in some capacity, because it looks to me that while Tau seems like the best fit for this role among our candidates, it also strikes me that Katie is a good fit for the role, and with both 1) our desire to get more people actively involved in the region's governance, and 2) the number of vacancies we've got, it just seems like a no-brainer.

I agree with Doc to where Katie shouldn't be overlooked in at least some form of Thaneship.  She's reliable, level headed, and gets stuff done.  On the note of her not getting reports out on time occasionally, keep in mind that UH reports are a completely new thing.  I actually want to say that before Katie started pumping them out, they've really never been a thing.  I might be wrong, but I don't remember seeing them before she started posting them.

While I do agree with the if it aint broke mentality, I do think occasionally rotating out with some new blood every so often isn't bad either.  It gives newer people an attempt to take on the workload see how they can take it, and also see if it's something they want to do more than just that one time.

For that reason, as much as I definitely appreciate Tau, I'll be voting for Katie for this one.

But if Tau does win, I think at the very least Katie should be allowed to be given some sort of apprentice role with Tau so she can learn and get an idea of what the role would be like.

They weren't a thing before Katie started doing them. It's something that she started.

I will vote for Katie just to make this election more interesting.
