Tomorrow (October 17th) will mark five years since the founding of Wintreath. Very few regions last with an active community for even a single year...for ours to last five years is a monumental milestone, one that could only happen because people care about this place. So I thought now would be a good time to talk about how we care...most of us know what we aim to be: a principled, warm and laid-back community of friends wanting to share things and have fun together. But what does this place, this region, this community mean to you? What do you enjoy about it, and what do you get out of it? What keeps you coming back?

I think in those answers we will find what is special about our community and why we're celebrating a well-deserved five-year anniversary as a community.

Oh, simple, the community. The community and the spirit of the community make Wintreath.

To me and obviously to numerous others Wintreath is the very best of friends. We argue, disagree and yell at each other but at the end of the day we're always here for each other no matter what's going on in our lives. We genuinely give a damn about each other and we know how to have fun. There's so much synergy, not just with the government stuff, but with the silly fun stuff too. If someone were to ask me what I thought about going to Wintreath I'd tell them they'd be hard pressed to find a better region.

I've been trying to think of what to say here for the longest time, and it's just not working.

Some of my best memories are from the old IRC, and the shit we used to talk back then. I came here when I was very burned out by the rest of NS, and then inadvertently made it a type of gameplay retirement home. I just come here to watch everyone be an idiot and join the idiocy myself every now and then. Oh, yeah, and Werewolf.

In all seriousness though, I do enjoy the community. You're fun, and always very polite (I think, maybe you're just messing with me).
