    (Delegate/Foreign Affairs Stuff Basically)

"If you try to be all things to all people, you're nothing to anybody." —Sen. Harkin

Bonjour my friends!  Once again, I am back to run for the Delegacy of Wintreath and this time to *also* try and do some cool things regarding posting ambassadors to all of the regions that we have relations with, to safeguard our region from horribly penned WA legislation, to approve basically every other proposal to ensure an ample supply of legislation in the World Assembly, and to hopefully improve our foreign relations in order to ensure cooperation and coordination in the event that we get people who would be willing to write WA legislation.  Also, if anyone wants to be an ambassador, that would be great because as I understand it we don't have enough right now, and I can't post people to like eight different regions, because that would be impolite.

Year to date (I've been delegate for a while now) we have accomplished some great things.  But there are still several goals that are still being worked toward.  These are compiled in the (not exhaustive) list below:

    (1) The polling of the region shall continue in due course as I come up with random questions that might generate activity.  Presently, I'm working on one for an official title "D.E.L.E.G.A.T.E." in which the winning submission shall be considered by myself to be legally binding to use in all of my official delegate communiques, which has appeared quite a popular idea.  Also, recently there was overwhelming support for more polls, though less so for "Yea" and Nay."

    (2) Currently, "The delegate shall vote based on a mystic combination of their own whims, the wind, astrology, and nice red uniforms."  I currently take this to mean vote whichever way most people in Wintreath vote on WA legislation, but this could be elucidated further and I hope to do exactly that in future polling on the region page.

    (3) Over the course of my tenure, the number of delegate WA endorsements has gone from 30ish at the lowest point to now nearly sixty endorsements, putting our WA presence in the top 20!! (55-58 total endorsements over the past month or so to be exact).  The goal is to improve this further, by perhaps instituting a more robust WA recruitment program, which currently just consists of me asking politely individual nations in Wintreath in the world assembly to endorse everyone they can.  That has had some success, but I would prefer a more widespread system, but I can't promise that will happen this term as things are returning to business irl/I would possibly have to post ambassadors to other regions and things.

    (4) One thing that I have not done as much of as I would like to is to undertake the expansion of the Wintreath WA influence in NationStates, but this would involve careful coordination with our interregional partners and allies, and careful growth of our regional WA power, and this is also the reason why I  (see (2)).

    (5) Growth of Wintreath in WA legislation.  We do not have a great presence in the writing sections of the World Assembly, and this could very easily be expanded, especially if we harness the capabilities of our awesome community and its passions in a variety of issues!

All the above being said, feel free to comment below to wish luck, request FOIA things, comment on particular platform positions, suggest improvements for our current system in and around the WA orinterregional/regional (basically NS) affairs in general now, and such.  Or just comment and say hello!! :D

  • I mean, you already won, so I guess people didn't feel the need to say anything.
    For equal form-filly-ness though,

Your candidacy for Thane of WA Affairs has been accepted. Good luck in the...coming term, because you won!
