Greetings!
Nominations for Underhusen, the lower chamber of our regional legislature, will begin on Saturday, January 25, with voting to start exactly a week later. The Underhusen is where all legislation in the region starts out, and members often find themselves considering legislation concerning Citizenship requirements, commendations and honorific titles to deserving Citizens, and maintaining the procedural rules of the chamber. With the recent passage of the Regional Clubs Act, I hope that the next Underhusen will also be considering charters for our first Citizen-proposed clubs and guilds.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, please consider running in the election!
To run, there are a few things to consider right now. First, you have to be a Citizen to run for office. If you aren't already, create an account on our forums and apply! You'll also want to have at least some basic knowledge of our Constitution, the Fundamental Laws. If you haven't already, it couldn't hurt to introduce yourself to the community on the forums and Discord. The more people that know who you are and what you're about, the more likely they will vote for you!
Once nominations open on January 25th, all you have to do is post in the nomination topic stating that you're standing for the election. However, it's highly recommended that you also post a campaign topic explaining who you are and why you want to be in the next Underhusen so that people get to know you even better. You can find many examples of past campaigns here if you need some inspiration creating your own. Once voting starts, it's just a matter of seeing who has the most votes. Hopefully you'll be one of them!
If you decide to run, good luck! I'm sure you will bring something awesome to the campaign.
With pride as your Monarch,
