I just think this thing is being lawyered to death. At the end of the day if we're doing this as an honour, the question of who is deserving of it is always going to be subjective and thus have to be at the discretion of someone. We don't have specific requirements or qualifications to be commended or to become a Paragon, I'm not sure it's required here either.
I wonder if we'd just be better off just passing the exemption for AJ specifically. We already know the Storting has the right to grant an exemption as an extension of its right to determine Citizenship law in general, so this act mostly just confirms what we already know and adds some self-imposed restrictions to that right. I don't have a problem with having that confirmation and procedure, but if we can't come together on what it should be in this case it may be counter-productive.
