Hate to make one of these threads but I've tried uploading an image since I got active here, multiple times. They never work. I've made sure I'm actually linking the image, I've fuddled with the size of the image to make sure I'm not uploading profile pics that are too big, but nothing works. I click "open image on new tab" on the image I want, copy the link, paste it in the box and that's it. But it never works. Is there something I'm missing or...?

You know, I never figured it out. Some profiles work, some do not and I could never figure out why.

Sometimes altering the https part of the image URL works.

When inputting a profile image from a url, only http links work. As Kane lives said, for many sites (such as Imgur) it's simply a matter of changing the link from https to http. Or if not, you can try a reverse Google image search and find an http link.

If you want to upload an image directly to the forum instead, there is also an option to do so, under Old User CP -> Modify Profile -> Forum Profile.
