It's Thanksgiving week in the US, and for those celebrating I'm curious to know what you are looking forward to about it this year.

For me, the big thing is the time off. I don't take a summer vacation, so even in a normal year I'm pretty drained by this time of year, and suffice to say it hasn't been a normal few months for me, with juggling work and taking my mom to appointments and trying to keep other things going too. It's going to be nice to have a week where I don't have to worry about any of that and I can just hang out at home and relax. I'm hoping to have time to get into some games and fun stuff, too, and to spend time at home with my mom doing things like working jigsaw puzzles (always fun during the cold months!).

And I hope to have more time to devote to Wintreath and chatting with everyone here along with other friends, too.

This'll be my first Thanksgiving without visiting my family, so that'll be kinda nice. There's just so much hecticness trying to juggle spending time with my mom's family, my dad's family, and my father-in-law's family. Now that we're on the other side of the country, we don't have to deal with all that.

We're going to a "Friendsgiving" party instead where a bunch of people chip in food, so we'll get to enjoy all the traditional Thanksgiving food without the hassle. Plus, my wife gets a couple days off work, so it'll be nice spending more time with her.

What are you people talking about? Thanksgiving was over a month ago! Silly Americans.

This'll be my first Thanksgiving without visiting my family, so that'll be kinda nice. Now that we're on the other side of the country, we don't have to deal with all that.

So basically you're going to be with the people you want to be with instead of the people you'd otherwise have to be with cause it's a holiday.

So far my holiday has been verrrrrryyy lazy, but the first few days usually are since it's usually my first large break in almost a year, but I'm starting to come out of it now. I've been playing a lot of Rebuild 3, watching tv, and not doing much else...though I hope to be at least somewhat productive the rest of my time off. I feel like a lethargic, lazy wreck when I'm not doing anything after awhile, lol.

Action de grâce is not a popular holiday here. It's one of those statutory holidays that almost no one cares about. It was also a month ago.

I guess that sucks for Canada.

I know I’m late since Thanksgiving was a week ago, but Thanksgiving was awesome! My Thanksgiving tradition involves meeting up with about 12 of my relatives and having a huge feast. We have turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, rolls, spaghetti corn (it sounds strange, but it’s amazing), this sweet potato thing that has marshmallows in it, and probably some things I’m forgetting. We end up eating the leftovers for a week afterwards . We play Catch Phrase and get caught up. We enjoy the day as much as we can.

I know this sounds cliché, but the best part was being there with my family, not the food. I’ve lost my grandmother, a great aunt, and a great uncle recently, and I enjoy meeting up with my extended family while I still have them.

I can’t wait until Christmas!

That's a really interesting contrast to my family, which doesn't actually do anything together and hasn't for years now.
