Hi there, I'm Rayden Greywolf, of the Republic of Amardom. A looooooooong time ago I dabbled in a bit of Cybernations....even ran a tiny little alliance of my own for awhile on there. It was like a little project of mine that I'd play around with and daydream about while in school. Ahhh the memories....ahhh the inevitable coup, and loss of interest. lol.

Anyway, out of all the recruitment messages I received, Wintreath's stuck out most to me, because it reminded me of what I wanted my old alliance to be like. Something about the vibe of it, I think. It didn't sound as forced as many other such messages (or, I guess I should be calling them telegrams now) tend to be. It just sounded like a sincere invitation to a region that promotes an open, friendly, and compassionate community. And that sounds like the kind of community I'd like to be a part of.

I'm glad that our recruitment message struck a chord with you...I may be biased, but I truly believe we're one of the most open, personable, warm, friendly, and fun regions out there. We're a community of friends, and most of us aren't afraid to be out there in the process...it's always great to find someone that wants to be part of that. Thanks! I'm sure I'll find my way around NationStates after a bit of exploring. Though from what I can tell, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions eventually about regional invasions XD

Haven't had much free time to check out everything yet, but I did see you guys have a whole section of your forums devoted to roleplaying. I take it Wintreath is a fantasy setting? Do you guys do modern/nation building type roleplays too?

Also, how goes your Civ games? That's one of my favorite PC games, I'd totally love to play sometime

Our official setting (The Wonderful World of Wintreath) is fantasy, but the other RPs are pretty much whatever their creators wanted...we have everything in the Gathering Portal from futuristic space to modern political union, so it's pretty a Wintreath of your imagination.

As for Civ, we used to have regularly scheduled games, but a lot of us got burned out on it...now we have impromptu games, usually sometime on the weekends. If you're on chat or Steam at the time the idea comes around your chances of getting in on it greatly improve.

So, I suppose this is kind of a rather big question, but what kinds of things does Wintreath do to interact with other regions, and the World Assembly? From what I can tell, NationStates seems to let players be a lot more isolationist than Cybernations. Then again, I also don't know how much can be affected from the game's invasion system so....

Also, out of curiosity, I noticed there was an "adult section" of the forums. What does that...entail, exactly? XD

The thing with NationStates is that the core game doesn't consist of much...answering issues, participating in the World Assembly, writing factbooks about your nation, etc...so it's been up to the community to build things around it to keep people involved. The invasion system is something that the community created by taking advantage of the mechanics behind changing World Assembly delegates in regions that don't have a founder...the regions themselves serve mostly as communities, and the interactions between regions are limited. I think that we do a pretty good job with our foreign affairs, but even then it's mostly posting news and invitations on their forums.

But the good news is that means NS is largely what you make of it...there are people that have been on NS for over a decade and still have fun with it, so it's possible not to get bored too.

Hehe...well, the adult section of the forums is for adult things...nice, personal adult things.

Huh, well that certainly sounds interesting. Is there a lot of RP at the global scale then? Or rather, IS there any kind of like, global community to interact with over on the NS forums? Not that I dislike the open-endedness, just, I suppose I'm a bit confused x3

And heh, well, consider me intrigued xD

The NS forums do have roleplay sections, but to be honest I don't know much about that scene...it's just a part of NS I've never personally been a part of. Maybe someone else here can tell you more about it, though.
