  • It's funny because Eldarion was someone else I was considering, although I didn't even consider Tau or Justinian.  Truth be told, I was somewhat considering that Laurentus was pulling a mean manipulation at first, since he can be good at that.  :P  But like me, he wouldn't miss a kill, and Ras' announcement that none of the power roles did anything cleared up that he couldn't be a bad guy...although I'm surprised that he did miss distracting someone that night.

Anyways, good game everyone.  As I mentioned, I'll be having the signups for X coincide with the 1st game, so expect to see them on the 29th.  It'll give me time to fine tune everything and perfect it.

  • May I boast about how well my strategy may have ended up working? :P

@Rasdanation, in terms of activity, this game was actually far from the worst.

I really had nothing to go on. Killing Aragonn first screamed we were dealing with people who at least knew enough to be afraid. I had no good idea of who to distract, so I shot it in the dark for tau, because of he too is a Hyperian and was behaving slightly differently, I felt, and fortunately, the killing stopped.

That's when I decided to take a leap of faith and strongly hint at my role, hoping the protector could protect me the next phase. It still wouldn't have been foolproof, but our advantage would have been massive.

I'll be honest, I didn't suspect Hydra or Elderpion, but Justinian bothered me for some reason.

Damn, I wish I could have finished this game.

Also, @Pengu, that happens to be why I was so suspicious of you. I wasn't so much inactive as I was unwilling to make unilateral decisions, so I gave my recommendations and expected beautifulthing to respond while I was sleeping. It never ended up happening.

And why does everyone automatically assume I'm busy with some serious manipulation? :P

  • Also, @Gerrick, I was incredibly suspicious of your vote for Hydra. Since I'd disrupted you, I knew for a fact you couldn't have scanned him, so your shite reasoning really set off every sense in my paranoid little brain. After I'd killed two of my fellow wolves, I thought for a second that I was witnessing the dawning of a new age of bastardised wolf tactics where nothing was sacred :P.
I also considered you could have been voting for him so as to throw off suspicion about some sort of link between you two, and it just backfired with a late-phase shift towards Hydra.

Ashton really had to talk me out of it. :P

EDIT: Like, really, if it wasn't for Ashton, I would have disrupted you again, because I was considering the possibility that Hydra could have been the designated killer, and once he died, the mantle could pass on to you. So you would definitely have died.

Once I got over my paranoia, I saw tau's consideration of your role, and that contributed slightly towards my suspicion of him.

I would have expected the protector to protect you, though.

Yeah, this game always manages to fuck with my mind.

  • I was struggling to think of an argument to get you killed. I probably would have had to sacrifice myself somehow like Colby did, or gotten the Seer and an extra villager on my side in the night phase.

  • Just out of curiosity, may I ask why the rule of not being allowed to reveal one's own role so pervasive? I always felt that role declaration and counter role declaration to be an amusing aspect of Werewolf games. :P

Just with the limited amount of people, having a seer, defended, and a roleblocker who can all figure out with what roles there are, we would have a lot of people already revealed to the entire game, if you could say that, which would make the game, in my opinion, very one sided, in benefit of the townies/villagers/cabinmates. That was my main reason.
