So, the following is a prospect i have just posted onto the NS forum for review. I wanted to post it here and have you all take a look at it and maybe give me some input. That would be awesome.

It is as follows:

Description:WA Resolution #4 Restrictions on Child Labor (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Understanding that Restrictions on Child Labor, had the noble cause of protecting children in the workplace,

Knowing that child labor may make fiscal life more endurable for the family unit

Noting also that a child can most certainly work in a hard trade* and peruse a full fledged education without much consequence

Believing that paternalism is also an infringement upon a human beings person liberty based on a humans right to be accountable for there own actions, and also to make informed decisions upon there own life.

Against the idea that age dictates an individuals right to govern themselves for there own well being.

Acknowledging that we have infringed upon children's right to work and live long enough, forcing both child and parent to be accountable for actions that are not there own.

* Hard Trade : Trades that require introduction to some large machinery such as “Machine Operator” “ Welder” “Fabricator” “Mechanic” Etc. Also Trades that could put another in some sort of danger if not trained correctly such as "Roofing" "Carpentry" " Electrician" Etc.

Or we could enable mandatory work for all adults who are not pursuing Education, other Employment, or Training. Think about it, there are more people over the age of 18 than there are under. Think about the profits.

Though, what you say may have merit, the profits are not the point. The point is no law should overshadow personal liberty.

Child labor laws are important. They prevent people from abusing children, forcing them to leave school to work. It happens in less developed regions all the time.

While I can understand your aim at this, it'd never pass through the WA.

Parents control their children, so this would of course be abused by allowing parents to force their children to work. Putting children at risk of danger would also not go very well for workplace accidents; it'd just be too much of a liability for employers. Also, the argument that children will make informed decisions for an issue such as this is just not very strong.

Children just inherently do not have the full civil liberties that adults do (and so are not held to the same standards), so it doesn't make sense to argue that children should be allowed to work as a civil right.

I like the effort put into this, though

Thank you all for your help. I left the issue due to the amount of heat i got as being a newcomer onto the WA field. Thank you all anyway.
