Didn't the Finns fight the Soviets? 

Yup. We were attacked by the Soviet Union and labeled as Nazi Germany's ally since they offered the help we desperately needed. Later we fought the Nazis.

As a result we lost a lot of land among several other things. Nazis burned the northern half of our country as they retreated to Norway.

TBH I'm not really sure why you ask. Granted, we used the opportunity to take back the lands Soviets previously took from us and we did advance further than that while the Nazis' Barbarossa was rolling strong... wether that signifies anything is open for debate.

We lost, everything we did is thereby wrong.

History is the narrative of the victors.

I think that the US was not justified in dropping the bombs, Japan had already attempted a conditional surrender, and was for certain going to surrender very soon, considering the USSR joined the war.

That being said, I'm not sure any American is OBLIGATED to apologize, as it was none of our decisions that resulted in that, we were not born. I would understand an apology on behalf of Truman, and the government at the time, but I would also understand if he chose not to apologize, as it is not his duty to do so.
