She was incompetent in the first place by ordering the crucifixion of the masters. It made true peace impossible. Even with the nobles coming to the table to try and avoid war with the other people Dany pissed off, be realistic. They would have continued their savage attacks the moment the outside threat was dealt with.

The fact remains that she bent and ignored her own principles continuously to stop the attacks, while none of it would have been necessary if she hadn't crucified people without trial to begin with. Her bloodlust is a precursor to the same type of madness that led to the Mad King's fall. Her self-righteous arrogance too.

Anyway, no, I don't think Victarion and Euron would be better suited as rulers, but losing her dragons should be an important character moment for Dany. Victarion also wouldn't waste time away from Westeros, and probably be more prepared to take the dragons to where they're actually needed: the north. If for no other reason than conquest at first.

Dany crossed the Moral Event Horizon long ago. It was my hope that Tyrion might speak sense to her, but she fucked up that situation so badly in Meereen, that I don't think even someone like Tyrion would have been able to save it. If, on the other hand, Dany loses her dragons and must learn to stand on her own two feet, and she does get a mentor like Tyrion (imperfect as he may be), she could learn to be a good queen (compared to other candidates, anyway) for Westeros. But I'm not convinced she hasn't slipped too deeply off the slippery slope already.
