I'm curious...if Wintreath were to test out manual recruitment for a period of time, who would be interested in volunteering as a recruiter?

Manual recruitment is pretty tedious work, but would significantly lower the costs of running the region and allow for future donations to be put more toward past expenses. Also, due to the way NS divides the queue between stamp, API, and manual recruitment, and the fact that most regions use the other types of recruitment, it's possible our telegrams would be seen by more people if sent out manually.

This isn't to say that the region will switch to manual recruitment, but I'm curious as to the interest.

I'd be willing to volunteer.  We used manual recruitment exclusively in my last region.  I can't say it was incredibly successful, but it will save the region some cash.

I had that shit down to a science in Spiritus. I'd be willing to help.

We used a script to streamline the process of manual recruitment back in the Spiritus days. Since then, stamps have come out, the API is used much more now thanks to NS++, and in response [violet] has mentioned that using such tools may now be considered illegal. So it would truly be manual recruitment compared to those days.

Oh jeez... That would be the most tedious work... But I could put some of my time in. Grab some more late night folks.

If there's enough people interested, one thing I may consider is splitting it up so that each recruiter is only responsible for a single feeder. That should make it easier for each recruiter to keep track of new nations in the feeders. I believe we would consider using stamps for the sinkers during the test.

I'm also considering doing both API, manual, and/or stamp recruitment. Sending telegrams through each queue would increase the odds that the recipient receives it, though of course they would only get one of the telegrams. According to Sedgistan, this would be considered legal.

I believe diversifying recruitment methods is the mods' goal with the current policy. Using all three methods would maximize TG delivery, or so they say...

That is some tedious work.
But could cut into the edge of a niche that is manual recruitment.

I certainly don't mind helping out when I have got time.

In a previous region I was in manual recruitment allowed you to post on the forum so everyone had to do it. It was quite successful.

An update on this...since Wintreath has fallen below 400 nations, I've dipped into Wintreath's reserve of stamps to automate recruitment messages for a time. Recruiters can and should still manually recruit as well, since this will put our message on two separate queues, raising the odds it will reach their inboxes.

To revive this topic...we are now using both manual and API recruitment (through NS++). This will allow us to recruit via two queues at once, and pick up at least some nations that would be missed when we're not manually recruiting. Due to NationStates rules governing recruitment telegrams sent by API, we can only send out 480 telegrams a day maximum (at 3 minute intervals), but this will at least supplement our manual recruitment.

If you have NS++ and would like be a recruitment officer, please let me know. This mostly requires that you be on NS so NS++ can send out telegrams.

And of course, we still need manual recruiters too!
