Did...did you award an honour to yourself? xDNot exactly. Nominations for Honours are opened to all members of the public for around 3-4 days, maybe longer depending on the Citizen numbers, and people will make their nominations. I then present the nominations to the Privy Council (a board made up of myself, the Dauphin, the Grand Duke of Elsbern and Baron Atuiland of Woolford at this moment), who will review and determine who is worthy of an award. Then I will give my consent. In most cases, for example, the Grand Duke of Elsbern who is also on this list, it is obvious for him to receive an award due to his long and outstanding service.

When we had regular governance in Wintreath, both the legislature and the Monarchy had their own honours and recognitions they could offer. The legislature voted for it, or I proclaimed it, and that was pretty much it. :P
It is indeed. But that is mostly because of how vital the Privy Council currently is - under Imperial Decree number 1, the Privy Council are the Legislature until a proper parliament can be assembled; alongside that, under Imperial Decree No 2 they are my advisory board. Therefore they essentially are the entire Legislative branch, so in a way it is kinda similar. 😝Not exactly. and after nearly 100 days as your Head of State, I believe my time has come to allow the region to move on without me leading. This is, undoubtedly, something which all long-serving NationStates players must realise, that they cannot sit on their Imperial or Royal Thrones forever. A time comes when another must stand in their place.Meanwhile Wintermoot in his 10th year of leading Wintreath. :P
I shall, it was always my plan to let Avaldonia leave home ... If you know what I mean? I think sitting back and allowing others a chance is the best move.Quoteand after nearly 100 days as your Head of State, I believe my time has come to allow the region to move on without me leading. I hope that being removed from leadership will give you time to care for yourself and focus on other aspects of your life, and that you'll continue to be around, of course. Best wishes to you and to Avaldonia! :)
Greetings! I was just informed that the region of Avaldonia is closing relations with us due in part over years-old accusations from a third region and in part due to the events of last year's split in our community. Of course, regions and communities have a perfect right to withdraw relations for any reason, or even without a reason, but given the nature of these matters I wanted to take a moment to reiterate some things since many people were not around during those events and might be understandably concerned:
Regarding Katie/katiebirb
We previously made a response to this matter here back in January 2021: https://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=6978.0 (https://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=6978.0)
However, I want to reiterate that nobody in Wintreath was aware of her attractions until the events that led to her banning, and the allegation that we knowingly harboured her, much less sent her to another region knowing this about her, is simply false.
Regarding Last Year's Split
The handling of the so-called Furry 9/11 situation that lead to last year's split was terrible, and I am to blame for that, as I am to blame for mishandling other incidents in the community in the several years prior to that. The past year since then has involved a lot of learning (starting with recognizing the difference between the intent and impact of what people say) and hopefully a lot of bettering. I am personally proud of the progress we've made as a community to offer a better-moderated and safer community, including a vastly updated and more comprehensive ruleset, a moderation oversight body (the RSS) and transparent moderation reports that highlight not just why someone was banned, but where we need to make further improvements in the future.
I understand that there may be further questions about these matters, and if so feel free to bring them up here or to DM me. I certainly hope that our Citizens, residents, and friends outside the community are happy with Wintreath where it is now, but we are as always happy to address concerns and take in ideas for further improvement.
