Earlier this week, the RSS approved a new wave of Discord changes, which I finally was able to carry out. These changes are meant to remove or repurpose low-activity channels and make the Discord easier to understand and be a part of.
The change that most people will see is that we've rearranged the main discussion channels. The Wintreath category will host general discussion channels and hangouts, but there's now a new Things We Do category for Minecraft, NationStates, and the forums. We've also done some new things with bots: NationStates RMB posts show up in #nationstates, forum posts show up in #forums, and just as before you can keep up with the Minecraft server and chat with anyone on there in #minecraft. This means that you can keep up with everything going on throughout Wintreath right from the Discord!
We've also reorganized all the governance channels into a single Governance category: one channel for the RSS, one for operators, and the #governance channel that's open to all Citizens. A systemic problem that we've identified before the split several months ago is that there was no separation between leadership and moderation. Over time, both groups merged into one body: the Joint Moderation Group. This setup, along with mostly different membership between the two groups, provides for more separation. Over time, especially once we rebuild the ops team, I believe the RSS will focus more on policy and oversight, while moderation will focus more on...well, moderation. In addition, we've archived the #suggestions channel, and Carl-bot suggestions will now appear in #governance where Citizens can directly respond and discuss them.
Finally, we've reduced the number of voice chat channels from 4 to 2: one for general chat and one for in-game chat/streams. This is a minor change, and I think most people would agree we never really needed 4 voice channels anyways.
Please let us know if you have any questions, ideas, or thoughts about these changes. As always, we're open to feedback! :)

I like how Things We Do all have Discord bot integration with posts in the respective areas. Very neat consistency.

Yeah! It wasn't intentional, but I like how that turned out too. :)
What I like about it is that I no longer have to keep refreshing the forums and NS region page to see what's going on...it's all right there, so it's easier to follow everything. I hope that'll be especially helpful for people who can't be around as much as I normally am.
