This first post is an introduction to the religion,
which will remain named as the 'Regional Religion of Wintreath'. Which has been renamed to the Wintreath Mythos.
To clear some things up:
- No we don't actually worship these gods, they're part of our regional culture and we just have them for role play reasons.
- This idea came up because we needed someone to crown Wintermoot and we couldn't think of a suitable authority figure so we just created a religion :P . In addition, this was all discussed beforehand with Wintermoot, this is not a spontaneous grab for power (though I am prone to those) by yours truly :P (Alterra).
Now that that's out of the way, on to the rules.
The Rules:
- The High Priest of Woden, leader of the religion, is Alterra as of this post. Alterra will designate his successor when he retires. Every High Priest of Woden will designate their successor before he or she retires.
- The High Priest will appoint Priests to the Council of Priests. Each Priest will be in charge of taking care of a maximum of two deities. Every deity will have a maximum of two Priests to him or herself.
- Every Priest will be in charge of creating and/or updating entrances to his or her deity.
- The Council of Priests shall be able to amend the rules by a unanimous vote. The High Priest, all Priets and all Vestials are included in the Council of Priests.
- Clause 6 of Section V of the Fundamental Laws of Wintreath state: "6. Citizens shall not be required to join the World Assembly or to participate in any inter or extra-regional bodies." This means that though this is the 'Regional Religion of Wintreath' no Citizen of Wintreath must recognize it as their religion, recognize it in any way or manner. This religion may be used for role playing purposes. Citizens of Wintreath should respect the religion, though they do not have to, and should respect it's members and its status as a role playing religion.
- A deity is defined as any being, human, animal, Sadeir, beast, etc. that is the focal point of a myth.
- Myths and legends must be submitted by Priests or Vestial to the High Priest via a Forum Private Message before posting. It is assumed the High Priest will know his or her lore and will be able to note discrepancies between Myths and will be able to correct them. Until cleared by the High Priest no posts will be made on that particular Myth.
- Vestial Virgins will serve all gods in the Sacred Grove of the Dahseir and are the caretakers of said temple, the only temple in Wintreath. Vestial Virgins must be female irl, but not necessarily virgins irl, only rp virgins. Note: an rp marriage signifies the lack of virginity, so any rp marriages forbid the user from ever becoming a Vestial.
- If a High Priest, Priest or Vestial is also a Member of the Underhusen, Peer of the Overhusen, or a Riskrad Thane or Jarl he or she will not let their political decisions be affected by religion and will not let their religious myths or decisions be affected by politics, consciously that is; subconsciously, ideologies will affect everything.
- As an extension of Rule 7, no Priest or High Priest will use myths to propagate a political idea, spread hate or defamation of a person, be it NSer or real life, or used in any other way than just for entertainment and the promotion of Wintreath culture, the myth shall be removed and the Priest or High Priest shall be subject to removal from their position.
- The Monarch of Wintreath, though he or she will keep his or her political tasks separate from the religion, has the power to step in if the High Priest breaks any of the above rules, as the High Priest can only be removed from power by the Monarch, who has admin powers. Once the High Priest is removed, the Monarch of Wintreath will leave the Council of Priests to elect a new High Priest from amongst themselves, and the Monarch of Wintreath will grant forum powers necessary to be High Priest to the new High Priest. The election will take place as follows: each member of the council will cast three votes in a public thread, at most once for him or herself, and the Priest with the highest amount of votes will be the newest High Priest. Once this is completed the Monarch of Wintreath will retire his or her emergency powers and continue with his or her tasks.
- The High Priest of Woden retains the right to ceremonially crown the Monarch of Wintreath. However, if the High Priest refuses to crown the Monarch, the Monarch's powers will not be affected and he or she will rule with all powers granted to him or her under the Fundamental Laws of Wintreath.

What's the religion called? :P

Those are the gods? Why would I want to worship What's, The, Religion, or Called?
-
The gods will be posted later, probably in a different thread, as this might become the discussion thread.
Why you should worship? Because it's fun! >:D
What's it called? See the first post >.>

The Golden Persian finds this prospect interesting. The Persian, while going to keep autonomy away from this institution, will observe it closely, now being able to research the mythos of Wintreath and the creation of a religion. What will The Persian find out about humanity, The Persian wonders...
-
I have decided to name the religion the Wintreath Mythos, nice and tidy :P
Expect the basic Gods and Goddesses soon :D
-
It would be an honor to take care of a deity or two! I'd like to apply to be a priest.
-
Alright!
I guess I have to shift my lazy ass and finally make this list :P
See it today afternoon, probably
-
Sounds good... I really want to do some RPing and if I could help bring more of that to light in this realm, then I will have accomplished my mission. 8)

Is this still going to be a thing? If you need someone to help pick it up, I volunteer.

Amalya and I had started work on this previously though that was eventually forgotten. I still have general outlines and would love your assistance on this, Tudor.... Do you have some easier way to access you than irc or forums? Like a Skype maybe or something... I don't know, PM me further about this... I was just heading to bed so I'm rather bleh'd.
-
Forgotten? Ouch... :P
-
Well... We never talked about it again until this moment... I had considered it forgotten.
