Title: If You Could Only Eat One Thing...
Post by: Wintermoot on January 22, 2022, 03:47:04 AM
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is a hard one for me, because I love food, but replying to Uni (Uniopolis on the RMB) I realized it'd probably be lasagna. I just love the mixture of pasta, meat, and cheese baked together in a warm, gooey, delicious mess. :D

(This was today's icebreaker on the NationStates RMB, courtesy of yours truly!)

Sushi. So many flavors and so delicious. I've often said I could survive off sushi lol

@Neon Abigail: I tried a California Roll last year, but I didn't really care for it...is there a flavor that you would recommend?

@taulover: Maybe? :P

I really like the King Crab Boston and Alaskan rolls but I mean I like everything sushi. I do think Cali rolls are overrated though

I think if anything California rolls tend to get too much hate because of how basic they are, a good one can be quite tasty. Always can be improved with more salmon on top though, which is what an Alaska roll is. :D

Personally I tend to vibe with sashimi more but rolls are nice too.

I'd say pizza, because I can get pretty much any ingredient I want, therefore any food if I need to pick it apart

Probably sandwiches since they're so diverse and can often be relatively healthy. Love me a good sammy.

@Neon Abigail, @taulover: I guess it wasn't so much the taste itself but the aftertaste. It left me with a very...fishy? aftertaste, and the more I ate the less that I wanted more. After four bites I just couldn't anymore. v_v

Moot, for you I'd recommend a roll called the Thunderbird.

Description

 (https://www.trapperssushi.com/menu/thunderbird)It's a nice mix of slightly sweet/tangy because of the teriyaki/sweet chili/Warrior sauce and lemon slices, but it doesn't have any aftertaste to it.  Plus, it's cooked chicken and shrimp instead of the usual fish.

If I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life, I'd want it to be that.

California rolls don't actually have the raw fish in them, just imitation crab (which is basically fish sausage - made from random bits of fish). I'd suggest something with salmon if you want to try, it tends to be lighter / more palatable. Fishiness can also be a sign that the sushi is getting stale.

Do you like fish? I know some people who don't like seafood but like sushi, but also vice versa.
